Firstly I was surprised to see that there is no 'Introduce Yourself' forum here!

I run a few fora and we have this to ensure that people can come in and tell us a little about themselves before they can post in the general forum.. Yes, this is of course another way to ensure we don't get spammed or infiltrated by bots.

So, I am Nik Grey - I have a Snuff business (Smokeless tobacco) which I started soon after I gave up smoking and that business does fairly well but nothing to write home about..

(I have other online businesses too - I am a full time online promoter)

I stumbled upon this forum after seeing a colleague write about his electronic ... (ecig - not what you Americans think a '...' is.. LOL).

Now, as a regular (started smoking again after 2 years but I like Cigars now) Cigar smoker I am wanting to try an e-Cigar but which?? I have watched a load of youtube vids and decided it needs to be on that delivers lots of Vapour and has at least SOME taste!.

Suppliers worry me too, I want something delivered in suitable time - not wanting to try an Asian company for example as I am in the UK (have been an eBay seller since 2002 so know what can happen)..

Can YOU help? I smoke Panama Slim Panatella's (I do expect an influx of Spam but hopefully that will not happen here). So need something that will satisfy my current need.

I found a company in the uk that supplies this (I know I can't give a link so here is an image).

Edit - This is classed nas a URL so can't show you the pic :(

And it's £35.75 delivered with 5 carts - 2 batts and a charger all in a nice box.

Is that a good deal for this?

Also, I was wondering if there was an alternative to this with interchangeable 'Atty's' as it seems a shame to have to buy a new unit every 2 months when the heater burns out!

Advice please.. And thanks for reading my longish post :)

Take this with a tiny grain of salt, all my beliefs are based on hearsay, but consider this:

You smoke cigars so I am going to make a big assumption that the vapor production on regular e-cigs and the throat hit their produce would not be enough for you. Mods and e-pipes deliver more vapor that regular e-cigs.

E-Pipes may look less odd in public than mods. They may provide more puffs per cartridge due to their design, on the other hand the ones I know of are designed in such a (poor) way that the atty is pretty much the whole device, making it rather expensive to replace. Remember that attys will die, sooner or later depending on how they are cared for, used and sheer luck.

Mods can look from alien to elegant but nothing like a traditional tobacco product. They have a lot going on their favor: They use the same attys as popular e-cig models; many of these are very robust.

I would say that the pipe may work for casual use if you have another device (mod) as your primary e-cig. If you don't care about having something that resembles a traditional device, go for the mods, there are enough out there to suit every taste. You may want to get a set (or two, so you have enough parts) of 510s to use in public if you don't want to call all that much attention to yourself.

Being very new to this I find myself considering another kind of product, not intended to vaporize liquid but ground leaves (and usually not by e-cig enthusiasts, but that's a whole other issue). The Iolite is portable and powered by catalytic conversion of butane gas. The Vapir Oxygen works on electricity, usually plugged to the mains but may be used with a battery (although the thing is hefty and does not power the unit for long). I wish there was more information on these units, especially the Vapir. Here is a thread on the Iolite, they are for sale on the UK by smokejuice who has them on sale right now.

Hope this helped.

..... For the Welcomes and advice so-far.

I am still researching this, checked out models mentioned so-far above - I have come to the conclusion that just because I smoke cigars doesnt mean that I need something resembling one - I am looking to replace the bad, nasty - horrible smoke that everybody seems to dislike so am really looking for something that throws out loads of vapour.

I suppose this is a subjective subject (is that even English?) as a product that suits one person perfectly may not suit the next so it's no doubt going to be time for 'Trial And Error' to a certain extent - helped along by you lot :)

Let the testing begin.

I have purchased a 510 from a UK company, £39.99 inc postage with some free extras which was an OK deal I think after looking around for a bit.

I am allowing my Snuff business to expire - well, the domain anyway uksnuff (dot) com and am looking for something to replace it with.

After looking around as I have over the last 2 days I realise that there aren't enough suppliers of e-cig bit's in the UK so.. well - we will have to see what my testing brings but so-far I think I could fill a gap in the market!

Wish me well.

I will continue to post my findings.

Thanks for all the help offered to date :)

Nik,

Welcome!

The 510 is a good choice I think. It generally considered one of the most "powerful" e-cigs stock.

I haven't tried or seen an e-cigar in person. From what I have seen they look to be e-cigs shaped like a cigar.

I wouldn't think any of the e-cigs could replicate the thick strong flavor you'd expect from even a smallish cigar. Once the 510 atomizer gets older it doesn't keep up with cigarettes anymore.

Perhaps a higher voltage mod would work better?

I have tried a juice called "Cuban Cigar" and I did think it tasted like a cigar. It was more watered down of course.

Let us know how it works out. I'd be curious to hear how these work for cigar smokers.
