New Kanger air flow controller

Nice! I have both as well among others.

Never claimed that the Aero base is the end all be all, only that for me and being what they are, the Aero base greatly improves the performance of the Kanger tanks.

I did not purchase the cap rings to fill gapping problems but, rather to fit my other rather bulbous 22 mm tanks to my Provari's. ( see Kayfun, Ibtanked and Aspire Nautilus) I ordered them when I ordered my Provari's.

I started out (like many others ) with Ego's and those crappy wicked throw away clearo's then moved on to more advanced units. When I first started dealing with Kanger tanks ( mini 2's) I found them to greatly improve my vaping experience from where I was. I also had issues with them but I persevered and learned to understand them for what they are. I learned to clean, rebuild and tune them to my liking.

I see that a lot of the peeps here seem to have issues with them and I always try to help them using my "real world experiences" with them.

What I don't like is when people post opinions or answers that are not quite the real facts ( and especially based on what they heard) when some of the less experienced vapers are looking for a wee bit of help.

Now I will flat out admit that I have better equipment to use however, when I just want to toss some juice in to a few different tanks and hit the road with out much fuss, I reach for my Kangers.

Joie, If it is the leaking leading to a case of the gurgles is of which you speak, the Aero base is the ticket. I have found that this problem (with non Aero bases) usually is with the viscosity of some liquids and the vacuum that is created every time one takes a hard pull on the tank itself. A softer pull = less issues. A quick hard blow into a paper towel should clear this up when it happens and other times you just have to pull it apart to clean and service it before you can get it to stop.

I was hoping to be able to comment on the new "Mega" tanks by now however, although my tracking clearly stated SATURDAY!, The USPS once again screwed the pooch so, I guess its going to be Monday.

There are so many who are using the stock kanger heads and they are leaking, gurgling or both. If you don't learn some simple DIY on those stock heads you will suffer through their entire lifetime. Replace the stock flavor wick(s) with a longer, beefier cutoff of a old top coil atty or buy some 1 and 2mm silica with your next juice order. That little simple DIY fix will solve the leaking and probably the gurgling.
The airflow adapter does help more with airflow issue from squished positive insulator in the protank1 &2 than the leaking and gurgling that is caused by a lousy head. But having the tight draw from a squished insulator can draw juice past the coil and thus leak and gurgle. The airflow adapter uses the slot in the positive pin to draw the air, unlike the stock base that the air draws down the threads and past the insulator and up the positive pin.
Thats why the protank mini's have so much better airflow than protank1 or 2 is that the mini's airflow is open like the adapter, not run down the threads like the larger protanks. Put a mini base on a hard to draw regular protank and you will notice a considerable difference in airflow and a better vape.
If you can turn the head over and see a ring of insulator behind the pin then chances are its squished and/or already impeding the airflow down the threads.
The airflow adapter is well spent money if your using the larger protanks. I bought several and now I don't use the stock base at all any more but the airflow adapter isn't as necessary for a mini since its a different airflow configuration.
By drilling the airflow adapter holes to 1/16 I can utilize the adapter for more control over lots of air or little air, unlike before IMO there wasn't much difference as you spun the ring around until it was closed.

If you have this adapter there is another one for the pro tank1&2 Anyvape BCC that allows install of the dual coil aspire.

I haven't had mush like with it, seems to constrict flow. Also does anyone know what the little Teflon piece that comes with it is for?

My experience with the airflow control valve is similar to some of yours but also different. The only protanks I've had were minis and I think the air flow valve is a nice upgrade with some tinkering. The range of adjustment on it out of the box isn't much but if you use a wide range of pg/vg ratio juices it does help dial in to my own preferred "sweet spot". I added another air hole between each of the existing ones and that helped. I'm going to drill all of them out to 1/16" today.

Now you guys have me tempted to toss in a lower ohm coil once I get these valves really flowing. I usually run around 2 ohms.

If you learn to cotton wick the leaks and gurgles will be gone.
