Welcome to the forum.

First you must decide whether you are looking for a e-cig that is like a cig in shape. Also called tube mods. There are so many sizes and different ways to use them. Some have buttons and are called manual ecigs and some are auto with no buttons to push. Then you have your advanced types which have variable voltage that you can use to adjust your vaping experience depending on if you like a warm vapor or a cooler one. Also besides the tube shaped mods there are box mods.

What do you want to try first?

Well Welcome to ECF , but had your husband done a bit of research , he might have saved a few dollars , by not buying you the BLU . Some people seem to like them . I personally think their garbage . Maybe look at getting an Ego "Twist" or similar ( several clones out there . ) and a few assorted clearomizers . I have been using some Kanger Evod's , and the T-3's and they have been working for me . The Twist is VV (varible voltage ) so you can taylor the vape to your liking . And the clearo's are real easy to use , and last a long time , if you clean them regularly . There are also cheap replacement headsfor them . CHeck them out , if you get the chance . Good Luck

Welcome Bellavee! You've come to the right place. Congrats on giving up the analogs, you won't be sorry!

Yeah, the cigalikes really aren't good for much more than an introduction really.

Now as to your question on where to go next, that will depend on a few things. Do you have a budget in mind for your first real setup? The reason I ask is because there are so many options available to you, it's easy to go overboard at first. My recommendation would be to start with a modest kit, potentially an eGo device with or without variable voltage ( VV as you will see it abbreviated ), a backup device of similar function as well as two or more delivery devices be it either clearomizers or cartomizers and of course some juice.

You can, of course, go whole hog and spend a fortune if money is no object ... but read around in this forum a bit and by all means, ask any questions you might have.

Vape On! :)

Too many options welcome and great job on quitting do you have any vape shops in your area if so go there and put your hands on some equipment they have forums based on location check there see if you have some place close by. Everyone here will have different opinions natural migration from blus is usually a joyetech setup with a clearomizer, cartomizers then after a couple of weeks of that an even bigger mod provari was my next step but like I said everyone will have there own opinion do a lot of research and hopefully you can find what you are looking for here I wish someone would have told me to bite the bullet and get the provari first just my :2c:

Hello and Welcome to ecf! I am fairly new to vaping and the best advice I can give you is to ask alot of questions here and read read read. Also there are alot of videos on youtube about the different devices and you can get an idea on how each one works and what is involved in using them. Those videos have helped me alot! They might give you an idea on where your comfort zone is as far as what kind of set up you want. I recommend getting a simple set up first and then you can go from there. I like the kind where I can pick my favorite ejuice (which currently is blackberry) fill my clearomizer and go. I don't want to have the hassle of anything else at the moment. Many people on here have been doing this for so long that they rebuild some of the equipment that they use and even make their own ejuice. Right now I just want to fill and go. So that is where I recommend you start, because you will spend enough time right now just trying out different juices and trying to find the one or ten or so that you really like.
Hope you get all the info you need to start your new life of vaping!

Welcome to the forum! I too started with blu and it did not work out for me at all. I definitely recommend an ego style kit for beginning, though I haven't experienced much, my ego twist has kept me off the analogs for two and a half weeks so far (never thought that would be possible). One thing you should know though is to be prepared for a throat hit, blu has little to no throat hit and you will get considerable TH with most juices. I definitely second whoever's suggestion it was to try to find a local shop, at least around here they have stuff for you to try out and veteran vapers generally like helping out newcomers (in my experience anyway).

Good luck!

Echoing everyone else, welcome!

I tried quitting using a 510 device a couple years ago - which was like a Blu, very similar to a cigarette in size, but with a "fire" button to activate it. I got all excited for a few days, then decided it was crap and picked up the smokes again.

A few weeks ago I got a cheap Ego - bigger and heavier than a cig, but to me close enough to substitute, and a million times better as far as getting vapor to mimic smoking.Others like even bigger and heavier "mod" devices - I haven't tried one yet but instead I'm focusing on getting a bunch of Ego stuff together so I've always got a couple ready to go, as once again it's close enough to the old habit to replace it for me...started out by cutting my smoking in half almost right away and then tapered off over a week or so until I was only vaping.

Look around the forums, there's tons of good info here to help you make a good decision on what to try - mostly it's going to be how much you're willing to spend and how much you want your e-cig to be like a real heater. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

The thing I find lacking most in the blu is definitely throat hit. I feel like I can suck on this thing all day long and can't get a satisfying "drag". I've also tried the njoy king, and those things are heaven, but who can afford that?!? They don't even last a whole day and are more expensive than a pack of smokes.

~Anyway~

I'm definitely on a budget. I'd like to stay at or below $50.00 for now, if that's even possible, but I don't wont to sacrifice functionality... I'm afraid if I don't get something good that works for me that ill go back to the analogs. I like the idea of just putting in juice and going, at least for now, so I don't think anything too fancy is necessary just yet. I need good throat hit, though... But that has more to do with the juice than the hardware, does it not?

I believe we do have a local vape shop, so I hope to go check that out tomorrow. I just want to know what im doing to some extent before someone tries to sell me something lol

Many of the better tube style mods will run a bit more at first, there are plenty of options though. They can get big, but as soon as you try it, you'll love it. One of the mods I recommend to people for cost is the VAMO. A lot of people like it and for a beginner it is easy to use. From there a tank and a cartomizer is a good idea as they are easy to manage and they can hold a lot of juice, so you wont have to worry much about refilling often.

The EGO is also a good choice as it is cheaper than the VAMO and smaller. Though, buying your own juice and refilling it is the most cost effective method, plus there are so many awesome juices out there that are -so- much better than what comes in the Blu's or N-Joy's. Plus, a bottle will last much longer and is far cheaper. You'll save a lot of money with just buying the juice and using a cart and tank.

A good vape shop is a good thing to have near you, as many of them sell juices, carts, and tanks too. I often use my local shops to restock on that stuff, while going online to order the actual e-cigs. Plus, as mssween said, many of those that work there know about the industry and all that is available, they'll have set-ups to try all kinds of stuff that you are just hearing about here.

In your quest to stay on budget just be careful not to go too cheap. A variable voltage eGo Twist or Vision Spinner is a great place to start and you'll likely use them until they die (can no longer hold a charge). The variable voltage feature will give you the opportunity to try a wide variety of delivery devices and have them work properly to optimize the flavor and vapor production of your e-liquid.

Unless you go hog wild buying all kinds of hardware and juice, you'll still spend less than you will on the Blu or analogs. Good luck !
