New e-Cig for a friend

Hi, I have a friend wich had been vaping ofr a year or so, and always he hasvaping using an Aspire e-pen [1]. He says it's not enough, and it's looking for something more powerful.

In a local store he found the "kit joyetech ecom" [2] and he liket it so much because of the size and look. And also because has VV/VW so he feels he can draw more power from it.

The problem is, I searched opinions over the interent and the eCom has consistent bad reviews about the tty flavour (some of them in this site). Also the VW mode is up to 10W and i think he needs a bit more.

I did some research (i have several mods) and found this:
  1. With the old e-pen atty and using a VAMO as a VW battery, 12W its the best flavour.
  2. The mech mod i built for my Girlfriend, wich delivers 14W in a dual coil is even better. (is a 18650 with a Magma clone atty)
The problems with those builds are:
  1. Way too big. He needs that the e-cig looks like some small tool so he can carry it in his job without no one noticing.
  2. Bare Lithium batteries. He doesn't own a li-ion battery charger.
  3. Rebuildable attys. He doesn't want to fiddle with that. Better stick with atty with replaceable heads.
  4. Price. He doesn't want to spend very much to get a good vape. Maybe 50Eur it's already expensive.

So for me seems very hard to find anything that anything of those requirements and also something that is tested/reliable.

Maybe you know some options which, probably they won't fit everything, but if it's something interesting please let me know.

I bought several times from fasttech and liked it a lot. If you could refer to actual items in the store please do.

Thanks !!!

I would go with the iStick 30 watt (not the 20 watt).
  • The 20 watt does not have stainless steel 510 threads and its threads can easily become stripped. There are also a few problems with regards to the mods circuitry (it measures mean not RMS). It is not capable of down regulating power (it is widely inaccurate, especially at lower voltages).
  • Joyetech corrected all of the above problems in the 30 watt.
For an tank look at the Aspire Mini Nautilus.

What about the Mini volt? It is TINY. delivers up to 40 watts with 1,500 mah of power.

See my avatar. I keep the Kayfun Monster Mini on it.

The combo is only 85 mm tall without counting the drip tip. When i am not vaping it fits in any pocket.

Thw Mini volt with my kayfun mini combined only weighs 4.55 ozs. That is about 3/4 of an ounce less than tge Coolfire4 alone.

I will NEVER UNDERSTAND why so many people are reluctant to wrap coils.

Wrapping coils is very essy. Properly wicking them is more of an artform.

Better flavor, better draw, a more consistent vape, build to the resistance you prefer.

Building is not that hard and a win win win win situation.

I was actually happy to kick the Subtank nano to the curb and its inconsistent occ coil heads.

Another good option!:)

LOVE MINE!

It vapes like a beast.

I only have two concerns with it.

1. If the Atty should leak tge juice may get undee the display.

2. If you dont vape within 30-40 seconds it goes to sleep mode and you have to click it 5 times to turn it back on. But with it in a pocket you dont want it to accidentally fire.

So let me tone that down to 1.5 concerns.

My Fasttech Kayfun Monster mini clone hasn't leaked yet.

I've read good reviews about the Innokin T18 Endura.
For a consistent vaping experience for the new vaper.
Easy to use, top refill, and usb recharge.
http://www.innokin.com/vaporizers/endura
It should be available at all the usual places.
I would buy one locally, get it the next day.
Why wait for a delivery from fasttech?

There are more 'advanced' options by now, but even something like the iJust kits or the smaller eGo ones would be good I think.

The above recommendation for the Endura may simply be an upgraded option of either the above though... except I think there are more recent versions of each of my suggestions too.

Seems to me like there's really quite a bit that fits these parameters, depending on where you have the option to order from. I would also agree the iStick 30W would be an excellent choice.

The ecom looks pretty good but appears to max out at lower power than your friend is wanting.

I'll see your 30 Watts and Raise you 10 Watts. LOL.

Eleaf iStick 40W TC Temperature Control Mod

I would suggest the 40W over the 30W because for a Few dollars more, you get TC and a Spring Loaded 510 Pin.

Someone New might not use (or even Benefit) from TC. But down the Road they Might. And it gives them Another Option to Explore.

Cool! Indeed small, and cheap in FT: $20.39 Authentic Eleaf iStick 20W 2200mAh Variable Voltage / Wattage APV Box Mod - 3-5.5V / 2-20W / silver at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
It's a very good option. Thanks a lot.

I'll need also an atty with tank a replaceable head.

Fasttech is a Good Place to get a Deal on something. But just be aware that it can take Quite Awhile for your item to get to you. 2 ~ 3 Weeks to the USA is Normal. But Longer is Not Unheard of.

Not sure who long something would take to get to Spain?

Yes, it takes from 20 to 45 days. It's not a problem.

Battery cells took 90 days last time.

I showed it to my friend and he liked te iStick 40W a lot. But he liked it for home & travelling; not for work because the size issues.

Sorry for answering too late about that size restriction. I didn't know how small was until today.

There are vapers out there that prefer the vape pen style or cigalike setups to the setups a lot of us use.

Theres a guy that works at the same place I do, I only run into him once in a while, he vapes those green smoke setups. Apparently he really likes them because thats all Ive ever seen him with over the last three or so years.

I ran into him a year or so ago and I was vaping on probably an innokin mod or provari in 18490 mode with mini nautilus or similar atty.(cant remember exactly what I had that day) Trust me it wasnt anything big or guady.

When he saw it he jokingly said "Whoa, be careful with that, you use a backpack to carry that thing around?
We both laughed, but I knew then he wouldnt be caught dead vaping anything other than his green smoke cigalikes.
Hey whatever works.

If the OPs buddy is anything like my coworker hes not going to be interested in mini volts or isticks, he probably wants a e pen.

I searched a bit looking for VV/VW batteries that are like a pen. In fasttech i couldn't find any VW, only VV.

And here is one that seems interesting:
$15.02 Authentic SmokTech ARO Winder 1500mAh VV Battery - 3.2-4.8V at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping ( Authentic SmokTech ARO Winder 1500mAh VV Battery )

Being the maximum output 4.8V and i googled for minimum resistence and i got 1.2ohm for it, I calculated a max output of 19W. That is far beyond my friend needs. (I just want to be sure there is a lot of margin between the wanted power of 12W and the max of the device).

Maybe is an option. What do you think?
