Need some JB Weld Tips..

I am wanting to try JB Weld instead of something like hot glue to help hold my 510 connector to my box mod (plastic AA box). This stuff can get messy! I need some tips on how to apply it to small places and not have it get everywhere! Looking nice isn't a MUST, but it would be nice.

So any tips on how to apply it with care would be great.

Squeeze a bit on a piece of paper and dab it on with a toothpick.

Ben i doi what asdaq does. BTW for anyones interest madvapes came out with a Shorty 510 extension and connector that you can screw on instead of epoxying it on. I picked up a few of these last week. but dont think they are worth 6.99 apiece.

I agree. $2.50 was fine, but 6.99 is too much.

Best Tip I can give is don't use it. I stopped using JB Weld for most of my builds because it doesn't adhere metal to plastic NEARLY as well as does Loctite's Heavy Duty Epoxy. I still use JBQ for an occasional application where strength is not important.

I agree 6.99 is a rip off. The first one I bought from MV and used it in my .44 mini VV mod. Last week I bought a couple from COV for 3.99. Just went back to COV and see that they are now 6.99. Come on.... profit margin is ridicules Bruce. Get real!

I love J B Weld been using it for years. Almost as good as Duct tape,,, but yes there are some plastics that it won't stick to. A Q tip (less the cotton) is what I use and when it is where you want it, wipe the places that you don't want it with the cotton end of the Q tip.

Found it at HomeDepot for 15.67

....that's where I get mine and the bottles are huge so you don't buy another set for quite a while. It dries clear and really does give a stronger bond. So far it's 100% keeping my Mini's in one piece; something JBK cannot do. Just an observation, but I'd say it's less affected by ejuice as well.

near sea level, I notice it can flow for 45 minutes.

I push it around and polish the surface with ISO soaked q-tips

wait to do vertical surfaces

let it "gravity flow" in layers when potting parts in place (drop-wise from toothpick)

my ugly stuff...

color with sharpie, but test (click sharpie leaves blue sheen)

black nail polish can work also on top of it, maybe ask a female type person to do this to avoid brush strokes

EDIT: now i can't stop thinking about a JB Weld mod - stick stuff to the side of an 18650, so it'll still fit in a charger, lol

I use a flux brush. Works well for me and you can make it smooth and look nice.

i wonder if there's a substance around the house that'll change it to black if you mix it in

i'm sure there are things that could be ordered to make it black, but jb weld's attraction is that it's lying around the house, promising to on any form we can imagine or shape with a drill...and usually ends up looking like it was shaped with a drill, but it's the stuff of dreams, isn't it? hehe
