Need help with my microcoil and cotton setup...

I've been using microcoils with cotton for a couple months now with great success. Yesterday I decided to try for lower ohms, so i setup a 10/9 wrap of twisted 30 gauge kanthal with a 5/64 inner diameter (1.4 ohms) with boiled organic cotton ball as a wick. No matter how much cotton I put in it (or how little), I keep getting a strong cotton taste. On every vape, after I stop firing the coil, my coil "sizzles" for about 3-4 seconds (which I've come to learn means I've got a wicking problem). It seems that the coil is staying too hot long after I stop vaping. Has anyone had any luck with a similar setup, that could shine some light and help me out?...

R u using a mech? What device? That sizzle sometimes means its not getting hot enough.. If im using my mech and i have a 1.5 coil, if my battery isnt fully charged it sizzles like that and it looks like the ejuice is just bubbly instead of priducing vapor.. Try a 1ohm coil instead

Sounds like you are not getting enough airflow. Can you tell us what you are using?

It's producing plenty of vapor, it's just tasting bad. I was having trouble getting it to wick well enough to keep up with 10 wraps of the twisted wire, but I gave up. I've gone back to a 1.6 ohm basic micro coil for now, but may try it again later with a couple less wraps.
