A perfume-y / chemically taste is also a symptom of too much flavoring.

If you want to keep the flavoring ratios the same, but cut back on the total flavoring percentage, you can add some non-flavored juice made with the same nicotine strength.

The usual refrain of start low and work up also work when you're cutting flavor levels.

Some donkey's rear end who goes by the handle of Hoosier wrote a blog about flavoring levels. If I remember right chemically / perfume-y is level 7. At least you didn't go level 8 because that's just confusing.

Every single tobacco I have made was like a bottle of death right off the bat. I don't even know how anyone can tolerate the wait with these types of flavors. Which is why I stick to easy bake Fruit pies or drinks and such. I thought something was wrong with TFA tobacco flavors until a vendor I know told me his RY4 is aged a month before he sells a single drop.

How are you steeping the juice? If it's just in a closed bottle somewhere, the perfumey smell will take forever to go away.

I would recommend you "air out" the bottles every couple of days. For plastic bottles, I just take the cap off, squeeze the bottle to expel the "stale" air and let in fresh a couple of times, then put the cap back on and give it a good shake. The perfume smell won't go away if it has nowhere to go!

Do you have some airspace at the top of the bottle? If it's completely full, try splitting it into 2.

Been making 5 & 10ml test batches in 15ml bottles and 30ml batches in 50ml bottles so there is room to shake them. Haven't been opening them to air out though ::facepalm::

Took Hoosier's advice and cut the flavor percentage in half from a 5ml sample drawn from the 10ml test batch. Going to shake n steep for a week and hope for the best.

I have M Type and while I haven't tried yet, it smells very strong. I just looked it up on the TFA thread and it seems like it's used at .5-1%. You might want to consider bringing it down to 1% and adding more if you think it's too weak. Post#1671

Cheers,

Edit DK is used at 2-5% according to the same thread. Those numbers are for single flavor mixes though. Just what people like, or recommend.

Is DK Tabacco as potent as M Type? If my remix is still too perfumey after another week I was thinking about dropping both DK and M Type down to 2.5/3% range and giving it another try. What do you all think?

That is a good idea.

There is a basic recipe that some people like on my teensey weensy blog if you want to see what I do.

If you want shake and vape tobaccos, try some of the VapingZone super concentrates.
Everything melds flavor over time, but the vz stuff is vapable right away.
Love the stuff. I have all of them.
Must haves are
Blended Tobacco
Tobacco Light
Real Cig
Parliament
Black Cigar
French Pipe

Seriously yummy.
All are great around 2.5%
