I'm trying to replace the CE2 in my MAP tank but I've run into a problem. The base of my replacement CE2 is not the same as the one I removed and it doesn't fit right into the delryn bottom cap. I took a picture so you can see what I'm talking about:

The original CE2 base is on the left. Is that metal piece on the base of the CE2 supposed to come off because it seems to be on there really tight.

Looks like you should have left some casing on the new ce2. looks like all the case has been removed making it too thin to seal.

What i do is take a 1/2" socket and place the bottom delrin seal with the base of the carto on it and punch it out into the socket using a screwdriver or phillips head screwdriver that is good size.. hope that helps.

You need to cut your carto and leave some of the casing on the bottom part using a pipe cutter.

also for those that want to use the clears in a tank you can use the cut off tube, take the clear tube off and tap the pc of tube you cut off of the steal ones being careful not to cut the silicone ring on the base of the clearo and then cut it down just like you did with the metal one as long as you dont cut that silicone ring it dont leak and works good.........now i bet a bunch of ya wished you kept those tubes you cut off................lol

great step by step too

Timothy....Great tip. Of course now I have to try it. I have some clearo's just sitting around that I didn't know what to do with since I am using the MAP almost exclusive.
Thanks
