Need advice: super easy mech/RDA for stupid person (FUhatton/Magma?)

Okay, so. Long story short, I got thonked on the head pretty hard, and I've been a bit derpy and concussy and vertigoey and crosseyed since, so I need an easy setup that is pretty much fool proof, if there is such a thing. My friends who mod go, "No no no, it's simple, it's simple and safe" and online I see "It's perfectly safe...as long as you know -exactly- what you're doing", and I go

I've vaped for about a year, now I'm a month into 0 nic with an Aerotank/MVP2 setup. Not doing it for me. Want to go mechanical. Want to go -very- simple. With that in mind, I am flavor chasing. Here's what I've come up with:

FUhattan. Nice. Problem is, when shopping, I'm trying to find the real FUhattan, and I read somewhere that the ones not obtained through Twisted420's FB group buy are clones of the clone. This mech industry is a bit nuts So, where in the heck can I get a real FUhattan?

Alternately, read lots of good stuff about this Stingray X clone - tons of great reviews, then one guy said the battery doesn't have any venting (zoinks):

But I'm way open to suggestions.

For RDA, I was thinking the Magma clone by Infinite. Heard it's easy, and I don't have to screw with staring really really hard at a little hole trying to drip things into it without spilling every 2 minutes. RBA also an option.

This is as far as my research has steered me. Looking for options/opinions/help on how to make it work, keep it simple, and safe.

Sounds to me like you might ought to skip the mech. Why add to your stress? Get a regulated device such as the Hana Modz DNA30 and Magma RDA -- and you'll be blowing clouds in flavor heaven. Most will tell you regulated devices are the future. Fasttech clones on both of these are pretty solid devices ($49 + $15).

Mechs and rebuildables are fine for hobbyists, but if you just want to vape, a regulated device and a simple tank are easier. It's much nicer to vape while you cruise through the pages of FastTech, then read the reviews of drippers that looks interesting, than not having a vape and freaking over a coil not firing correctly.

Tip: Vape while you build. It will calm you down.
2) Try a Kafun. They may be an RTA, but are easy to practice building on while you wait for your FastTech order to arrive.

My suggestion, go with the Magma only for now/first. If you like it, go with a Reo or other bottom feed MOD. Bottom feeding gives you all the convenience of a tank, and ease of rewicking/coiling/cleaning of a dripper.... no downside I've ever seen. P.M. me if you want to get into this option, there's a few modifications I can/will help you with, that are needed to be done to use the Magma with a BF MOD.

You will enjoy the 30W. It's easy to get plenty of vapor on them and with the Magma, you'll be in heaven. I tend to stay above 0.5-0.6Ω on the 30W though because they tend to kind of suck at the lower range they can handle. Still, cranking up those watts will get you exactly what you're looking for.

I have the 'authentic' Fuhattan from the limited first supply (I think they got 5?) they got on 101Vape. I know they're pretty much impossible (the first runs) to come by now. I'm not sure about those new carbon Fuhattans with the middle finger on the switch, my friend got one but that's not the design in T420's video. Maybe version 2?

Also interested in RTAs, but figured $15 for a dripper isn't bad at all, and heard the flavor's off the charts. I'll check out Kayfuns while I'm at it.

BF mod sounds a bit crazy -- I'm not allowed around power tools (even the little ones, heh). But if I get the bug, I'll hit you up. Thanks!

Not sure how accurate this is since my Magma is on a mech, but RipTripper said that it's a great RDA for a VW - IIRC he said it tends to vape very nicely at on a wide range of wattages. Either way the Magma is a great first RDA. You'll be introduced to good flavour straight away, rather than having to strive for it on a less forgiving RDA. I'd say your Aero will end up being retired once you taste the difference.

On mech mods.. the DNA30 is a good intermediate step between EGO-type batteries and mech mods. It'll give you an introduction to battery safety, variable wattage, and it'll help you figure out what kind of vape you want. From there, getting a mech mod is pretty simple.

I agree with Ocelot that mech mods are more of a hobby thing, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't go that way - I find it really rewarding. Every evening I kick back with an NBA game and try new coil and wicking ideas. Total zen.

I've used the magma on both my ft hana cloneand a mech. You can go 1-1.5ohm on the hana and crank up the power, and its a great vape. On a mech though, I went to 0.6ohm to get the same vape.

Multimeter:
Not required with Hana as you have built-in ohm meter plus regulated voltage.

Wick:
I'm quite pleased with Cellucotton Rayon from Sally's; $11 for 500 ft; plenty for yourself and friends. Don't buy the wrong one e.g. polyester reenforced, non-rayon, etc.

Coils:
Kanthal A-1, $5-7 for 100 ft; I like 28g on Magma and build from 1.2-2.2 ohms

If you haven't ordered yet, I also like the POM/Delrin drip tips for vaping comfort. Coils last a long time with this set-up; I dry-burn, clean, and rewick every couple days or so. Enjoy!

I don't think FUhattans have been cloned. Anyways you could buy all of this off ebay and then you can also buy premaid coils off eBay. So all you would have to do is insert the coil into the Magma test fire it, put some wicking material through the coil, add juice, and BAM your ready to vape.

on my 30 watt device been using a 1.2 single coil build using 26ga Kanthal wicked with a mixture of Cotton & Cellu (Rayon).....hits great anywhere between 17 to 25 watts, works for me......i tried several different builds lower/higher and this seems to be the sweet-spot for my taste. i'm sure you will enjoy your new device.

I think you'll like your choice

the Magma was my first rebuildable as well and it is very easy to build on. I've only done single coils @ 1.1 - 1.4 ohms with cotton and it's all I've ever felt I needed to this point. I use mine on an IPV2 @ 14-15 watts. works great.

Your next step will propably be a tank and you can't go wrong with the masses on that one either (Kayfun Lite Plus v2 or Kayfun 3.1ES)

I prefer the 3.1ES because of the better airflow. Everything else is better on the Lite Plus v2

I say the igo series is where to start dripping, simple screw wrap builds, doesn't get any simpler than a 2 post screw wrap dripper, a 1.5+ coil on any mini igo can run on an ego, I found that switching from ego to mech was my least useful switch, build a few .7/.5/.9 builds n nw I'm using a 1.5 on my igo-f again anyway, and it runs better on my vv v3 at 9watt than on my mod

I think you're going to really like the DNA30 and Magma. You probably already know this, but just in case, you don't have to build low ohms because it's not a mechanical mod so you can turn up the power with the mod. In a mech you set the power with coil resistance.
