I'm a relatively new vaper (been off the analogs about 5 weeks now) and have gone off the deep end with it! Buying stuff has become a hobby!
Anyway, I have been using a couple of aspire ET tanks, found them really good but felt like I needed to upgrade so I bought a Nautilus Mini. I've heard so many rave reviews about them, so thought I'd try it for myself. Got off to a bad start. Fried the first coil. Didn't let the liquid sit long enough and blasted it at 5v without priming. Queue terrible burnt plastic taste! Put in the other coil that came with it, put fresh juice in, primed the coil (few hard pulls without the power), still had a really "off" taste. Not burnt plastic but still very unpleasant. Went to bed cursing another wasted few quid. Got up this morning and decided to try again. Put the tank on my little DOVPO 20w, tuned it right down to 8w (3.9v) and give it a go. Pleasantly surprised. Very good vape! Very different to the ET.
But...after using it all day I'm starting to get a bad sort of taste back. Not overwhelming, sort of subtle. I might well be imagining it! Any body got any ideas? Should I empty out the juice again and wash the thing out? Should I simply carry on, the bad taste is really subtle and the N. Mini behaved very well all day (it's now about 9pm). Don't want to just toss it aside and resign myself to another wasted few £.

Hi @Ozzie_J and welcome to the forum. Anytime I burned a coil in the Nautilus I gave the tank a good cleaning. The burnt taste can leech into the juice in the tank. I usually took the tank apart and soaked it in vodka (not rubbing alcohol due to the chemicals) followed by a tap water rinse. I usually used a paper towel to dry it out and refill, or let it air dry over night. I never rinsed out or soaked a good coil.

Every tank you'll ever own will have it's peculiarities. In my opinion the Nautilus is a great tank.

You might check these links since you're across the pond.

Make certain to properly prime any new coil, like covering the air holes and take a few draws without power to draw juice into the wick. Then let it sit for a bit. Sometimes the Nautilus can be a pain to take apart, and a rubber band around the bottom part will work just like a kitchen jar rubber grabber.

Good luck in your journey.
