Could it also be juice on the floating pins or a stuck pin in the myjet body? I had a pod not making contact so I cleaned the pins and around the seal with a qtip, now I do that every time I replace a pod and all is well.

Nah because a coil isn't necessary to charge.

I do have that issue periodically also, but shirt or qtip and its good after.

Tried a few coils on the Kayfun V5 mini Clone. Unfortunately nothing spectacular I must say. Can you guys think of what I could be doing wrong?

10 wraps, Kanthal 28awg. 1.5mm inner diameter
1.0ohm

Similar in flavors as the Serpent Mini. No wicking or dry hits. Muted flavors though compared to the MyJet

Hard to say what wattage you using?

Also with all the gunking on 1 side that makes me think
A: you have a minor hot spot
or
B: that side is actually where most of your juice is wicking.
Put it back in the box and get a Kayfun Mini v3.

I have a Mini v3, Mini v5, and a Rose v3 on order, so hopefully it turns out good.

After deducing that the Myjet pods use 31 awg nichrome 80 (see earlier posts) and trying 30 and 32 awg nichrome 80 1.5mm 7 wrap spaced coils (also above) I finally got some 31 awg nichrome from Kidney Puncher. Tried 1.5mm coil with marginal performance in my kayfun V3 mini clone then did a 2mm coil 7 wrap spaced and it vapes well, good flavor but lighter than the Myjet. Still it's the best I've gotten from my Kayfun and if I had never vaped a Myjet I would have considered it excellent . The Myjet has a tighter draw and less airflow so I think that's perhaps one of the reasons for the difference, density of the vapor. I've used 2.5 mm kanthal coils in the past, but now think the 2mm coil size is best in the kayfun (note I vape 80pg/20vg NETs in it, so not sure how high Vg will perform at that size). I may try to restrict airflow a little more (though I've done that with my fingers and though the vape was denser no big improvement in flavor). I will also try some 30 awg kanthal and N80 for comparison at 2mm 7 wrap spaced at some point.
Update: one factor I've left out is power, I've been vaping at my usual 8W but noticed that's only 3.5V on my 2mm x 7 wrap spaced N80 1.57 ohm coil. The Myjet isn't regulated so charged it's higher voltage. Cranked it up to 9.7w 3.9V, covered three of the 4 air holes with my fingers and I think I'm on to something, denser flavor and it's very good.

I thought I read somewhere that the MyJet was 20w?

However at 4.2v and 1.3ohms that calculates to around 13 watts

That 4.2v last a couple minutes lol. I would say it runs 12w and lower as the battery drains, feels 9 to 10W to my vape taste most of the time. I saw it listed on one site as 12w.

Another note:

My multimeter registers my pods as 1.8ohm

.5-.6 resistance in the leads (touching)

2.2-2.3ohms measuring the pod

So 1.8 ohm

31AWG kanthal at 1.5 inner diameter and 1.8 ohm is 7ish wraps

I didn't trust my multimeter since on the 200 ohm range the specs showed a fair amount of error, so I also checked it on my eleaf low range coil tester and after deducting MM lead resistance got 1.3 on the mm and between 1.3 and 1.4 on the coil tester which agrees with the published resistance for Myjet pods on several sites, tested 2 coils. So we got different results, different coils? Who knows.

There has got to be a way to find 2 small tubes, where you can take the current contacts out and have a screw on the bottom to hold the tube in the plastic housing and contact the terminals on the battery and another screw on the top to capture wires.
My thoughts as well I've been all over the Internet looking at miniature uninsulated .... splices, pins, etc no luck yet. Wonder what that gold coating on the pod terminals is?

You know what.

I bet you could cut a small gauge syringe needle and thread it for small screws.

isn't easier just to buy more pods?

I'm with you on that. For me, the whole reasoning behind going to a pod system is to get away from all the rebuilding. Refills? Sure. Rebuilding? Why buy a pod system to begin with if you're going to go through the fuss and mess?

That would be a great idea. I think we would have to change more than that to make the pods last. The plastic base and the pod itself are too fragile.

I tried to get warranty for my broke battery and BeyondVape said nope. (/declined)

That sucks but I originally got mine from My Vapors and although I did have to ship them back the customer service was top notch and the whole process took a little more than a week.

The biggest problem my GF is having is leaking after the second or third refill. Never getting to burning the cotton or wearing out the coils.

Mine don't leak that much. I think mostly is moisture from vaping.

Are you cutting those 4 plastic pieces from the base? Because I don't, they seem to hold the pod together pretty tight. Also noticed that it's a lot easier to open the pods after vaping for a few minutes. This basically heats up the plastic making it softer to pry open.
