My First recipe post.. Cherry Starburst (TFA-DIYFS Sweetener)

Hey Folks,

Here is my first public recipe, and this one happened quite unexpectedly..

I was going for a nice fruity/off key flavor to keep my buds dancing so I decided to go for a pineapple cherry vape, sounds good.

So I mixed it and, another juice, by the time I got to this one, I had kind of forgotten what the general target was and just had a nice big puff.. and holy crap I had a cherry starburst in my mouth.

So, these are general ratios from what I did, you may want/need to tailor it for more or less potency for yourself, of course.

1.02 ml

TFA - (0mg) Marachino Cherry

DIYFS - (0mg) Sweetness Sweetener

0.3 ml
6 drops
1 %


The key seems to be 2 different things converging:

1. The pineapple seems to add that almost waxy, acidic note of a starburst when you eat it, without the pineapple it just wouldnt happen. This is the darkhorse of the juice, imo, transforming it into the starburst.

2. The marachino mixed into the black cherry gives it that nice candy cherry flavor, the black reduces the cloying sweetness of the marachino, and on the flipside the marachino adds just the right amount of candy flavor to the black, the combination gives you a nice sweet n sour effect of cherry.

Again you may need/want to modify, but I think the two points above, if you want a cherry starburst are the key core that can be built off.

For other bursts, I would imagine the pineapple has the same effect, so add whatever other core flavoring you want and try it out!

No problem, it's my pleasure! I couldn't find one out there, or didn't look hard enough, either way I wanted to toss it out there for anyone who may be interested.

Even if you don't know what a starburst is like, its quite delicious and if you want it less starburst-y more pineapple (my original was 20 drops) is really good, with strong but not overpowering pineapple flavor on the inhale, and wonderful sweet and tart cherry on the exhale.

What is DIYFS Sweetener and how does it compare to Ethyl Maltol and Sucralose?

DIY Flavor Shack. I would say that it to me, one of the more natural sweet's of those three. I got all just to see, and find myself using it most. It just, to me, has less actual taste and more-so just raises overall sweetness level. The other two when I typically add them (with very small amounts, of course) often seem to slightly modify the actual flavor profile in some way I am having trouble articulating for some reason, whereas this doesnt.
