Ok, finally yerterday I received my first e-cig. I bought Red Dragon based on the reviews and after research I made on this forum.

I cannot comment on other e-cigs since this is the first time I try one and the Red Dragon is the first one so I will limit myself to my own experience.

I bought their package that comes with 2 batteries, 4 carts, a usb charger, wall charger. 1 low cart came as a gift. 4 medium marlbo taste.

First they shipped it very fast, but since i was shipping this outside the US i was afraid they would not ship this based what its in the package and they could think they are rea cigarrettes. Thanks to Red Dragon they shipped this on a Fedex documents box without any details so not a problem. My carrier shipped this overseas and I received it yersteday. I also bought a Tennesse Creet juice from Amazon which is on the way and should be here next week.

Well my first impression is good. The thing is on a nice black box, with the items I described before and some cargs from buyreddragon.com

I did not tried the wall charged but it was nice to know its also for 220v since most things I buy from the US are only 110v and I have to adapt them but since this is 110v-240v not a problem but I did not tried it.

I plugged one e-cig straight into my laptop. After 1 hour the light was green and I was ready for my first tests with the low cart that came.

I started to make short puff to warm the thing like its says on the instructions. Ok nice. You have to draw harder then cigarrettes thats for sure. For also have to draw slow. So I gave some puffs along the day.

What wondered me is that most people said there was no hit with this. I actually did feelt a hit with it when I took a good puff to it. On normal puff there isnt any hit thats for sure but with allot of smoke it feel it coming down.

I then tried the medium carts and I sure feel it there. So I suppose it has to do something with nicotine level. I did feelt the taste and its not like cigarrettes but I like it. Its not bad, its a nice flavor.

Now the part that bugs me is that when someone came over to try it after a few hours, after 3 puffs or so it not worked anymore. I thought it was the cart that was over but it did not puffed with another one. So i knew what was wrong. Battery.

I did readed here that battery is shot but I did not expected to be this short. It probably lasted 100 puffs at the most. I was dissappointed some way but I think this is because Red Dragon maybe charged this before shipment.

I say this because after pluggin it right away into the laptop it took 3 hours now to charge, not 1 hour. And I tried the second battery and it worked straight out of the box.

Im not sure how this batteries work but I remember old cell phones, the first generations you have to leave them to die completely out before charging. So i suppose my e-cig came with some charge but wasnt really full.

Then at nighg with new battery I started to test again and im not sure why but I could not draw at all. I draw and the light doesnt get one, I have to make short puffs so its draws but then when i make a long short puff it doesnt. I tried lots of way and it was not puffing, not normal, I had to draw really hard and it works 1 of 5 times. Even with several carts, so i put it away and went to bed.

Today I took it took a short puff and then a slow one and Voila it worked again. I suppose it could be thats its cold right now where I live, 5 celcius or something so I just think its was cold tonight since today it works well again.

Just in case I have plugged it right now again in the laptop and its charging again so im not sure anymore if you have to drain the battery before charging or you can do it when even you want and it will fill up.

This is what I did not liked to much. Draw is not as easy, I sure did not found the trick. They said it has a 3 second cut off and I always said here on the forum why people where bugged with that since 3 seconds is enought. Well I join those people. Its not 3 seconds, its allot less and now I understand why. It already takes like a 1 second untill smoke comes and another until you take it since you have to draw slow, so its not 3 seconds of puff but maybe 1 second. I understand now why people say its short. I tried what people said making short puff but I noticed then that juice comes out of the cart.

I also notice that its not good to make fast puffs since then juice will also come out, i did this on purpose and I always saw some juice when making fast puff, also smoke is not allow that way. It really works well making slow long puffs. Im not sure if juice on the mouth is good, people here say nicotine is highly toxic with skin but I just feel a little taste on the mouth, i actually like it.

Well. I hope someone can give me some trick since I still dont know how to puff this. When I puff it to the mouth it works but when I do it to the lung it doesnt. It seems puffing to the mouth is stronger. I also noticed that if you puff into the e-cig it heats faster but i read somewhere you can burn it that way. I just did a short in puff to warn it before puffing in. What Im not sure if this has to be done each time or i can just take it and puff directly in.

Overall im happy. Taste isnt that bad as people said with the carts that come. But I sure want to have my juice not because of taste but money. the carts are to expensive. They cost 3 times what a real box of analogs cost me so I have to refill it where ever i like it or not.

If I want to take this out with one night I will have to take 3 batteries at least since its short, very short in my case.

Last thing, I noticed it works better without the rubber caps that comes on the carts but its better to use them on since you can hold it with your teeth without leaving marks on the cart.

I'm also new to these forums and vaping, with my first e-cig being the Red Dragon.

Let me just say that I am so excited to find an alternative to smoking that will allow me to feel satisfied without stinking like an ashtray, or dying of a slow, painful death!

After a week of using the Red Dragon 8-pc Kit (x2 Batteries; USB & Wall Charger x1 ea. & x4 All-in-One Cartridges/Atomizers), I'm already researching a replacement. I ordered it with Medium (11mg) Vanilla & High (16mg) "Marlboro" flavored cartridges (4 per box), and the 8-pc kit came with a sample Medium Cherry as well. At $100+ shipped, I was expecting to be more impressed...

The Vanilla is practically flavorless with very little, if any, throat hit. Cherry is only a little better in either regard, and although the High level "Marlboro" flavor has a bit of a throat hit (on double puffs), the flavor tastes GROSS to me. It tastes nothing like the Marlboro Mediums or Camel Lights to which I am accustomed. It's a bit harsh like cheap tobacco, and smells almost as bad. Initially I liked the idea of all-in-one atomizers/cartridges, so that one got a fresh atomizer with each cartridge. Now I'm not so sure. The automatic cutoff time is way too short for my liking at but a few seconds, so that I have to take 2-4 intermittent puffs rather than one longer one. They do produce an okay amount of vapor, but nothing like the manual switched batteries of the 510 videos I've watched!! (The 510 is my next investment.) Also worth noting, one of the Vanilla cartridges leaked upon first use, but to Red Dragon's credit, their Customer Service has offered to replace, or refund the cost of any leaking cartridges. The batteries seem to last a fair amount of time. I plan to keep better track of how many hits I get off of a fully charged battery, and if anyone expresses interest to this post, I'll post the results.

I'm thinking of keeping them as backups, but I really wish I'd looked at these forums prior to making my first purchase as I really cannot afford to buy & try several kits, and now I have to wait a couple of weeks to purchase a replacement. Here's to hoping that the 510 suits my needs better.

VaporUprising, trust me, you'll love the 510. Red Dragon was my very first e-cig, I started with one a couple months back. It was OK but the auto switch with 3 second cut off was killing me. I didn't realize how frustrating it had been until I had the 510 to compare it with. Plus the hit off the 510 is far better.

The 510 with manual switch is amazing. After trying three platforms -- the Janty Stick, the 901, and Red Dragon -- what finally got me off analogs was the 510! In the form of Janty Dura-C. It's now two weeks since I've had a regular cig and I'm totally satisfied.

what do people mean by "manual" switch. Is there a button you have to hold down or something?

Exactly and it becomes an active pleasure measuring hits via the precision control it affords. I started with red dragon also about 5 weeks ago.... they are abandoned to disuse and envy of the 510. Not to say the 510 is perfect but today is 4 weeks no analogs. Definitely order juice to direct drip onto your 510's attomizer
Good luck!

Thanks for addressing the subject of burning catomisers, dougp925! I'd quote you, but apparently I have to make more posts before I can include links. :(

As for the burning filler in the all-in-one atomizer/catridge now being used in several brands/models... I realized a concern for this when one of my carts had an extraordinarily NASTY and burnt taste toward the end of its life. It was obvious that the filler had gotten cooked because in addition to the horrid taste in my mouth, the cartridge smelled REALLY bad - similar to the odor created from analog butts melting in a too full ashtray. 8-o

I'm not a doctor, but I'm fairly certain that humans should NOT inhale the smoke & noxious fumes from such material...just sayin'.

Congratulations on being smoke free, johnny66!! I just ordered the 510 kit, and I am SOOO excited! I've heard so many rave reviews about it!

My next mission of discovery is the find the perfect drip flavor/strength. I've read a great deal about atomizer issues being attributable to them getting gunked up, so now I'm wondering if there's a difference in the e-liquids compositions that causes some brands to create more residue than others.

gpdo24, that's why I've decided to return the Red Dragon kit, well, that and the fact that one of the two batteries died after less than 2 wks alternating use, and 3 of the nine cartridges from them were defective as well. Fortunately, they have an excellent return policy (especially on their kits). That may be their primary redeeming factor, but unfortunately for them, if the 510 is as good as the majority exclaims it to be, methinks Red Dragon will need to rethink its product line.

If I may, why didn't you return your kit??

A quick update.

Yesterday 1 RD battery died. It shows fully charged but doesnt go on anymore.

My second battery today is going to die soon as well. It doesnt work anymore when you puff on it. You have to blow in to make it work and its getting harder and harder. Its going to die any minute.

Also I got a Smoke51 battery. It died after 1 week or 7 charges.

Im very dissapointed, since I have more then 2 Juices, 15 carts now to smoke and im off analogs 1 month now. Spend close to 200$ on ecigs and today Im going to go to the store back to analogs.

There is no way Im going to spend again 70$ for getting batteries that last 1 month. This is way to expensive. I thought batteries would last at least 6 months. Not 1 month. So they are all 3 dead. One still puffes but very hard, i dont give it more then a few hours.

Im not in the US so its going to take weeks if I order batteries again. I would never expected all 3 batteries to die almost the same day.

I know nothing about Red Dragon other than what you have posted...but it sounds like they have poor quality control. You need to buy a standard model like a M401, dse901, joye 510. It sounds like the auto switch in the RD batteries has failed. The M401 and dse901 also have auto switches but I've yet to have one fail...although others have. I've mainly been using a 901 but I rotate use of 6 batteries. I haven't gotten my 510s yet, but a 510/dura/titan/yeti with manual batteries are highly recommended by others here. (I have 2 kits on order.)

I also have a Janty Kissbox. Got both an auto switch and a manual. Had 1 auto switch fail in first few days8-o, but they have a great warranty:cool:. I like the control of the manual switch but the kissbox seems to subdue the flavor of the juice - at least for me. (I suspect most pen styles are much the same.)

Back to my main point, if you let us know where you are we can help you find a supplier for something decent. Hate to see someone go back to analogs.:-x

Keep vaping:cool:
