RDA mutation x v3

Went and picked up this little buddy today, and got some 26 g wire
The atty seems quite nice, but holy crap building this thing is insane.
I think I put the wires on backward, so they pulled out as I screwed them in... That was fun to fight them to stay put. Next time I'll have to try the other way around, idk if it matters.
I'm aiming my build for .7 ohm, 1.4 per coil. I spent over an hour trying to build it.
I read that the coil should glow starting at the middle, but the coils don't glow at all, though plenty of heat is produced. I actually lost my wick so I can't properly test it's function, but a drop of juice applied to the coil did produce vapor.I tried to get a hit but unsurprisingly did not work out
Tested at.6 ohm, kinda shaky on the meter, but within my batteries safety limit
I'm not sure if this is a request for advice or just venting, but I got a cool new toy. C__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_indulgence-mutation-x-tank-V3-3.jpg
That's a stock photo I pulled from Google, not mine, btw

By backwards I meant I put them on the wrong side of the h holes, out was like 2 am...
I remember reading somewhere that the screw would push the write out of you pushed out in from the wrong side, but now that I think about it that doesn't make sense.
I'm using a mech with a Sony 18650, 10 amp discharge.
I just had success ghetto rigging 2 pre made coils into it, running at .8 on my meter.
I suppose the 26g is too thick? I got it from a guy who was using a VW mod, so that may be the difference, since his pushed more power through, idk,I will be going for some 29g write when I have more money to spend on it. For now I'm happy, I just needed to throw a little fit
I honestly don't think you would identify much of a problem with a picture of my low resolution camera, tbh.
The coils o built seemed pretty massive tho, I used a calculator that said 18 wraps on a 2mm rod with 26g...

The mutation v3 is the only modern dripper I own, so I can't compare it to other newer drippers, but I can say that it makes mind blowing clouds, and with the mutation style chuff cap on there every draw is like a huge river of pure dense flavor pouring into your mouth. My only complaint about it is how hard I have to tighten the screws down, I needed to use a bigger screwdriver and put some serious force on them otherwise they would back out if I looked at them funny. Which, by the way, could be causing the shakiness of your readings OP, you really gotta screw those things down super duper tight to make a good connection.

Is the v3 worth getting? I am interested in one currently, does the center post spin? That's going to probably be the main selling point for me if it doesn't spin :)

I like it and its built very well. I have no problems nor have a heard of any problems with the Center Post spinning.

It's probably my favorite RDA for traveling and cloud chucking. It never leaks due to its deep wells.

My favorite all around RDA for both flavor and clouds is easily the Freakshow.

I'm working on getting some flavor out of the thing. I guess it's a top cap issue.

I agree, it is a little finicky, in regards to flavor. Too much cotton and the flavor gets "muted". Too little cotton and the darm thing starts on Fire LoL!! Anyhoo, gunna try another quad build on mine tonight and see if I can avoid flames again! I'll post pics if successful.

26 gauge definitely isn't too thick for the post holes, I've currently got mine set up with a single twisted 24 gauge at 0.3 ohms and it hits really well. With just the one side of the airflow next to the coil open it gives a really warm dense vape. Like Dioxyde I do find the screws can back off if I don't screw them down seriously hard, but once in properly they stay put. Loving this dripper at the moment!

I'm thinking about adding one of these to my collection today. Already have the doge v2 and the geyser (clone). Would it be worth it to pick one of these up?

After picking up a derringer I have treated my mutation x like a stepchild. But don't get me wrong, the mutation is a monster in its own level.

I've had the MXv3 for about a month now and I've been liking it more and more. I love the airflow range. It can be a flavor atty or a cloud chucker with the innovative adjustable airflow design. I primarily do single coils. I don't like the fact that the bridge doesn't easily allow for the wick to go over to the juice well without the coil. Other than that, it's an amazing atty.
