I'm looking for something I can add to my current juice to make it taste more minty or menthol. I'm wondering if I should use the flavoring extract as to not dilute the juice? And can peppermint oil be used? And what should I buy exactly? I have some Koolada flavoring from like 4 years ago when I tried to do diy, not sure if I should use that.

Ok so I'm looking for something to add to my fruit flavored juice as I typically get fruit e-juice with mint or menthol, but I have some flavors that don't have it that I want to add some to. I do not want a spearmint, wintergreen, or a peppermint flavor. I want it in the throat hit as well as the back of my throat, doesn't have to be super strong, but I need to feel it. I'm thinking a bottle of menthol and koolada concentrate should do it? Or is there something else out there better? And I don't really know which brand to buy... are they all relatively the same for the mint/menthol stuff anyways? I don't want the flavor to overpower the original juice, if it alters it a little it's fine but something like wintergreen would most definitely ruin it. Thanks for the suggestions.

Menthol

Menthol-FW

Start at 1 drop per 10ml and work up until you find your desired strength.

If you don't want any taste at all and just the cooling effect then use koolata and the same recommended dose and work up.

Start experimenting with a 10ml sample of the juice you want to cool so you don't waste all your already made juice.

I can add the crystals directly to the juice without diluting it first?

No... Don't add crystals to your completed juice. Add them to PG and dissolve them. (if you don't know how to do that, google it... there are even videos on YouTube about it)

The link that @dannyv45 previously shared with you is for menthol in solution. I can see how the picture could make you think that it is for the raw crystals. But, if you look beyond the photo and read, you will see the sales units are "ml" (a form of liquid measurement), and the ingredients are listed as "Pure Menthol, Propylene Glycol, Alcohol." Both the PG and Alcohol are acting as the dissolving carriers. (Note: the Alcohol will also help to provide a little of that extra throat hit that I believe you said you wanted.):)

Thanks lol, I guess I didn't read clearly, I was on my phone and just looked at the picture. So if I pick up a Koolada and Menthol and mix it 50/50 and add a few drops to my juice, I should be good to go right? I may just use this bottle of Koolada that I have already if this stuff doesn't go bad or get weaker over time. It is a Koolada 10% from TFA in a glass vial, and it's like 3 or 4 years old.

And just to be clear, Koolada is not as strong as Menthol and provides a 'cooling' effect while Menthol provides more of a throat hit with less of a cooling effect? I am looking more for the icy cool feeling as to the throat hit.

I would not agree with the first part of your question; many people find Koolada quite strong. I have also read posts where DIYers have said that one will cool on the inhale while the other cools on the exhale (I'm sorry but I don't remember which is which).
For me, menthol has a very distinct Vics Vap-O-Rub taste/smell to me which I don't care for, so I don't use it often. My experience has been that either can add throat hit when enough is added. Koolada doesn't have any flavor to speak of.
If you want to avoid throat hit I would start either (menthol or Koolada) at 0.5% and work up from there.
I may just use this bottle of Koolada that I have already if this stuff doesn't go bad or get weaker over time. It is a Koolada 10% from TFA in a glass vial, and it's like 3 or 4 years old.
If you haven't already tried it; by all means do. It won't go "bad." It may have lost a little of its potency but it shouldn't be spoiled. If it looks like any crystals have formed just put it in a cup of warm water for a bit and then shake the stuffing out of it. The crystals should dissolve back into solution.
So if I pick up a Koolada and Menthol and mix it 50/50 and add a few drops to my juice, I should be good to go right?
I would strongly discourage you from just arbitrarily mixing the two together until you know that is how you like it. You may find you like it 1:1, 2:1, 1:2, or some other ratio better. Or, like me, not care for one of them at all.
I know it is not what you want to hear, but you need to spend a little time, and find what works best for you. As DannyV previously said work in small amounts until you get a feel for your own sweet spot so you don't ruin all your store-bought. Once you get the idea of where you like it then you can look for shortcuts to make it easier/faster for you. :D

If you want the cool blast without the menthol (which has a medicine taste to me too as @IDJoel mentioned) I highly recommend Polar Blast from Flavour Art, but you do have to use it sparingly (I use 2 drops per 10 ml juice, you might even start at 1). It gives a cool icy blast I like a lot without the menthol taste, its probably like Koolada which I've yet to try. And what kind of mints are there other than spearmint, wintergreen, or peppermint? haha. I made a minty recipe using peppermint and Polar Blast that's fairly close to an Njoy Menthol, they use peppermint in that, and like it a lot.
