Mgs nic juice per Ml??

I've run across a thread about this somewhere along my travels on ECF, but can't find it now. How are the mgs of nicotine measured? Is it per ml/cc? Like when you get 24mg nic flavored juice, that the amount of nicotine is it per ml/cc that you vape. Trying to correctly figure out how much nic I'm vaping.....that is if it's more or less nic than I was getting smoking analogs each day. I was smoking two packs aday for the past two years. Right now I'm using 24mg nic flavors to vape, so would two mls/cc's be giving me close to the same amount of nic I was getting? I really want to completely get off the nic someday soon too.

It's been ten days without an analog!!! and I Love vaping!

Thx:vapor:

I think ignore the 2 packs part - it doesn't really batter if you are going to vape about the same amount you smoked or a bit more.

What kind of cigarettes did you smoke? Some typical starting nicotine amounts for people are

Full strength cigs -> 24mg and some need 30+
Light cigs -> 16-18mg and some need 24
Ultralights -> 10-12mg and some need 16-18

So if you smoked full strength cigarettes like regular Marlboros then 24mg is right around where where many start.

The measurement is per ml. And 24mg is similar to the amount in a pack of full-strength cigarettes.

What can't be easily measured is how much you absorb from each drag - how big is your drag, how long do you hold a drag if at all, how much vapor your PV puts out, how much are you exhaling, etc. Similarly, cigarettes burn part of their length into the air and not into your lungs.

24mg feels right to many full strength smokers. If you get a headache or dizziness or racing heart, then it's too much nicotine. But I don't think that will happen unless you start vaping a lot more than you smoked. And you can always try going to 16-18mg if you want to vape a lot more than you smoked.

Thx Dormouse and Wherewolf. Thats the info i wanted. I smoked light 100's and I'm enjoying my new Riva510, so getting lots of throat hit and vapor. I haven't really paid much attention on how long I hold a draw/vape. So to not be over doing the nic, about 2 mls/cc of 24mgs liquid basically gives me +/- the amount of nic I was getting smoking analogs.

Either I'm the exception or this isn't necessarily true. I was an Ultra Light smoker and I tried starting out at 18mg. I still had cravings so I bumped it to 24mg and vaped that for about a month before bringing it back down again. To the best of my knowledge there isn't a direct correlation between how much or what you smoked and the nicotine level you should vape.

There are heavy smokers who can't vape more than 16mg and social smokers who are only satisfied with 24mg.

There are approximately 20 drops of e-liquid per milliliter. So, using 24mg/ml e-liquid as an example, it would be 1.2mg of nicotine per drop (24mg/20 drops). So, if I put three drops of liquid onto the atomizer (direct-drip), that means I will be taking in 3.6mg of nicotine by the time it runs dry. To me that's about a Mboro 100's worth. These are just rough estimates, and I don't think we absorb as much nicotine from vaping as one might think. I will say however, that when I decide to start drinkin' for the evening, I cut back to much lighter liquid (0-10mg) so I don't over do it. A nicotine hangover (headache) is worse than the one from booze....IMHO.
