In general, for all tube mechs, put the negative side down toward the button. That way, if you get an tear in the wrapper there's less chance of an autofire. The only exception I make-- and others disagree about even this-- is if you are using a faux-hybrid (direct to battery) top cap. I say that because I judge the danger of getting a hard short at the battery top way higher than a wrap tear. Therefore, use the 510 top cap that comes with your Tsunami, and put the battery in negative down.

Actually nothing happens until you push the button. The positive is isolated from the mod until you push the switch sending the current along the tube where it encounters the wrapper damage and exposed negative can of the battery causing a dead short.
