My big beautiful bat plant is gone. Do you remember the picture I posted last year with all its weird flowers? It had gotten so large that part of it was in the sun, which bat plants dislike, so we had to move its container. Before the move it was under the house eaves…after the move it was not.

These plants like lots of moisture but with all the rain we’ve been having it got more than it could handle and some sort of fungus attacked its roots and traveled into the trunks from there…turned the trunks into mush

There's no emoji to mark your post, so I'll just say sorry that it happened. The squirrels attacked a large jade plant on the back porch we've had for years. It died off and the trunk and large limbs just turn squishy and hollow. There a shoot coming from it's base that Janet is trying to nurse along.

Morning, all. Looks to be a nice day here, two in a row! Still vague mutterings about "scattered" showers. Which generally means either scattered away from us, or only on the roof, not the ground. (Yeah, it does that! )

Thank you all so much!!

We didn't really have an agenda because of the virus. We didn't want to go out to a restaurant. My DH was a chef before he got injured and I was a baker and pastry chef so we cooked a special meal. I made foccacia and an apple torte and he cooked steak and shrimp with a special garlic sauce, potatoes and Brussel sprouts.
We reminisced during dinner and off and on all night. We had a great anniversary! I don't think it could have been better.
My parents sent us a check so we're going shopping on Monday. That could be fun!! Thanks again y'all! I'm glad I was able to share it with y'all!!

Mid 60's at night, mid 70's during the day ..

Put the yard off for about 2 weeks for various reasons .. hit it this AM, it was getting pretty shaggy .. still need to weed whack though .. won't have to do it Sunday now, so maybe grilling some brats and having a few neighbors over is in the cards ..

My pair of Hummingbirds are starting to really suck down the juice .. seems a bit early for them to begin beefing up, but what do I know .. they seem to be hitting the front feeder next to my living room windows about every 5 minutes ..

Good afternoon, all. I hope everyone's day is going well. I'm heading out to the yard and finish the weed-whacking I started yesterday. I just finished ordering all of the parts to repair/replace the lower steering on my mower. The standard shipping was just under $5 and expedited shipping was under $34. The scheduled date is the 2nd of September. I did not go for the expedited shipping. My lawn can just wait for a couple of days. Well, now for some lawn fun, ya'll take care.

I didn't know they made those custom end caps for the classic. There were various styles available for the P2.5 'in their day'. The Classic has a bigger spring in the end cap than the P2.5. Make sure that cap has the bigger spring.

If I just saw that picture without you telling me it's a Classic, I would have taken it for a P2.5 modified with a flat top instead of the original tapered top end.

Good morning! It's a beautiful morning here although a little overcast. The sun is making an appearance, but it's pleasantly cool this morning and only going to 84 today. What a relief from that heat wave.

I've noticed increased activity recently at my feeders as well and it does seem a bit early. We've had more hummers than ever flitting around and I believe the first ones to arrive this Spring must have been here last year because they were hovering right where my feeders were hung last year. Amazing really. I get lost going from one town to the other and yet these little wonders migrate and show up exactly where they remembered eating the previous year.

It seems it's not quite as easy to define as "You know you're a Redneck if .."

Do I watch Rom Coms and "The Bachelor" .. Nay (well, maybe a Rom Com periodically)
When I was married, did I get all mushy and gushy, sprinkling rose petals ..?? Nay
