Hey there. First time posting. Read lots of helpful stuff on here in the past. Started vaping last year and all is well. Quite happy with my evod. But I am finally having an issue, which is my own fault lol.

I keep cracking my evod tanks from it getting knocked off my coffee table and whatnot then hitting the hardwood floor. Happens alot with having kids and dogs lol. So right between the tank and mouth peice is where it keeps cracking. Anyone else have this issue? I can't be the only one lol

So I figure I should find a more durable tank. Ive come across the evod 2, evod glass, mini protank 2, mini protank 2 v2, and the mini protank 3.

Now the only problem with the evod 2, glass, and mpt3 is that they are dual coil and read they drain batteries quicker and can't use my current coils, which sucks. So I'm thinking of ruling those all out unless someone can convince me otherwise.

As for the mpt2 and mpt2v2, I've read ppl complaining about metallic taste from the tip, which the v2 I know you can swap it out, but not the v1. But what I was thinking is, if I have a drop tip that can be removed, what happens if/when it takes a fall, would the drip tip come off and have liquid everywhere or are they pretty difficult to pull off? What about a replacement drip tip, are they going to be any more or less easy to pull off, especially if/when it falls to the floor.

Only universal downside to these are that they are a bit longer than my current evod tank and I carrybit in my pocket so it makes it harder to hide, which is why I use a standard 650 battery instead of a VV (which I also have for when I know I need a longer battery life). *note, I currently vape at 2.2ohm, in case anyone asks.

OK so sorry for the long post. If someone can help me out or give their feedback or any other ideas, that'd be super. Thanks in advance!

Generally speaking, the higher end pyrex glass tanks are made to be more durable in case of a fall like you described. However, glass can still break or shatter. You might want to place a couple of elastic hair ties(?) around the tank to help absorb the impact. There are also eGo battery suction cup holders (see images below). Or you could keep your device in a tall drinking cup to prevent them from being knocked on the floor.

One thing to keep in mind, I found that the 1.8 ohm and under of the dual coil tanks don't seem to work well with the Evod 650. They work well with VV
I also feel I should point out that I have managed to break my subtank mini and my genitank mega, on the same day no less. Anything can be broken, if you have something that works for you it might be better just to stock up on a few extra evod tanks. When you start messing with one piece of the formula, you often wind up needing to change the other parts as well.

I have a Protank II for over a year, and I have no problems with it. The ones with a removeable drip tip... yes, the drip tip might come out, but no leakage will happen. I haven't had any metallic taste from mine. Mine has a non removeable drip tip. They each have their own plusses and minuses. The removeable drip tip allows you to get a drip tip that feels best to your liking. However, if you try to put it in your pocket, I noticed that a drip tip on a protank II must be very snug, or it'll fall off. As far as dropping, I think the removeable drip tip might also act as a buffer to keep it from vibrating.

I liked Baditude's reply.. put a small o-ring or rubber band around the glass part of the tank.. that will help absorb the impact if it does fall off. I also recommend getting a coffee cup or something tall enough to where they won't fall out.

I have used the RGM2 since January with no problems. Broke one but it took a 5ft fall onto the driveway.

You can used single coils in Kanger dual coil tanks. Just double up the top cap on the chimney. I have been doing this in my Aerotank and Mini Protank 3's.

If the mouthpiece keeps separating are you using a tank cracker juice. I have that problem earlier.

My daughter and I have been using Evod Glass tanks on our Evod 650 mah batteries for over a year now, and are very happy with them. The only one that broke was one of my daughter's when she dropped it on the concrete driveway. So far, the others are still fine after being dropped and knocked off the table onto the "fake" wood flooring in most of the house.

We started out using them with Kanger single coils. I got Kanger Mini Protank 2 bases for the Evod Glass. All I did was swap out the Evod Glass bases for the Mini Protank 2 bases, and the single coils worked like a dream. I did keep the Evod Glass bases and dual coils that came with the tanks for possible future use.

When I had to replace my daughter's Evod Glass tank after the unfortunate accident on the concrete, she decided to try the dual coils that came with the new tank, and absolutely loved the flavor she was getting with the dual coils. We have now switched from using the Kanger single coils to the new enclosed wick dual coils, and are very happy. We have not noticed any drastic changes in battery life, and we are still using Evod 650 mah batteries.

I wasn't aware I can screw in my single coils into the evod glass. They do seem like they would be more durable than others with the protective coating and glass windows. What do you mean by double up on the top cap? As in buy extras? Also, I vape mostly grape, strawberry banana smoothie, melon, bubblegum flavors. A couple others too. Nothing of the citrus, Apple, or cinnamon variety.

I've never dropped mine further than off a table onto carpet or hardwood floors. Never cement. So the evod glass did you just take out the dual coils and screw in your old single coils? Or did you need the base off of the protank 2 in order to use the single coils?

We much prefer the Evod Glass to the Mini Protank 2. The metal around the glass on the Evod Glass is a big plus for us - we are both inclined to be clumsy, and we always worried about dropping the Protanks and having glass and eliquid all over the place. We also enjoy the flavor more with the Evod Glass, both when we were using them with single coils and even more so now that we have gone to the dual coils.

No problems taking the drip tips off the ones I have. My daughter's boyfriend has replaced the metal drip tip on the one we got for him with a drip tip that he likes better - no problem getting the original off and the new one on. We have had no leakage issues since we started using them. Just the normal tiny bit once in a while on the center pin of the battery, which is easily wiped off with a qtip or piece of tissue. Since we have been using Evods (we switched from cigalikes), we have had no leakage around the windows at all. My daughter made the mistake, within a week of getting our Evods, of putting Wild Cherry eliquid in one of the original (plastic) Evod tanks. Wild Cherry eliquid all over her car. She had not noticed the warning on the vendor website that the Wild Cherry is a tank cracker. She now knows why I insisted on ordering the Protank 2 Minis at the same time we got the Evods. One of the main reasons that we use glass tanks most of the time - no worries about tank crackers.

Not worried about taking the tip off and putting on. Worried about the possibility of it pipping off if/when it hits the floor. Has that happened for you or does it stay on pretty well with a drop?

EVERY drip tip is different. Made with different tolerances, etc.

You can put a piece of dental floss under the o-ring on looser drip tips to make it sit tighter inside your tank.

Some drip tips wobble, some are tight, some just "click" nicely into a tank. You never know.

Is that a brand thing or any manufacturing thing? Like say I get two evod glass tanks. And get one with a tight drip tip and the other might have a loose fitting one? Or are they all equally tight or loose fitting?
