Good morning everyone.I looked at the longevity of PG and VG,If stored at 76 degrees it has a shelf life of 18 months for oral consumption. What about vaping? Can we use it longer the 18 months unmixed?Does any one know how long we can use PG and VG unmixed and being safe to vape? Its Friday and hope everyone has an awesome day

Thanks Sophie_Lapin.Nassau is 110 miles from me.Maybe next time.I see the experation date on the jugs of my PG and VG but that is for oral consumption. Can we use it past that since we are vaping it? I still have 1 gallon of each and I have six months to go before the experation date and I know I can not vape all that.ANy one have an ideal?

PG is normally used I think as a skin moisturizer...external use. I'd be afraid to use anything intended for that past the expiration date internally. It really isn't that expensive...I guess you just need to ask yourself if it's worth the risk...and try making smaller batches of juice in case the taste is bad. It would be much more expensive to have to toss a juice (with nic and flavoring) because of bad tasting pg :(

edit: just noticed you said the exp was for internal use...still, lungs are much more sensitive than our stomachs. But that's just my opinion. Wait a minute and someone else will come along and tell you it's fine ;)

Here is a little info I found on Dow Chemical PG, I suspect it would be basically the same for any manufacture. Personally I don't think it actually goes bad and certainly not the day after it expires but the quality would start to diminish. In fact the quallity probably starts to diminish the day you open it.

PG USP/EP has a shelf life of two years when stored below 40°C in closed containers away from sources of UV light. An ongoing stability test program confirms this shelf life. The shelf life refers to the length of time during which a product complies with its sales specification when stored under appropriate conditions.

PG USP/EP is hygroscopic and may be subject to partial oxidation in the presence of oxygen. With increasing storage time, dependent on the storage conditions, the water content, color, odor and acidity can increase.
