Hi Folks

Lately my wife and I have noticed that lettuce tastes rather unpleasant. It has an nasty "earthy" taste. Previously it tasted pretty neutral, not much taste at all. Lettuce is pretty much off the menu now.

We've both been on e-cigs for about 9 months, and, while our sense of smell improved almost immediately thus far we had not noticed much difference to our sense of taste.

Anybody experienced anything similar, especially with lettuce or other bland vegetables?

Cheers

Your taste buds are improving. Lettuce and other ground grown vegetables have always had the taste of which they were grown-from the earth! I hope you enjoy the ability to taste foods for where they come from and enjoy those taste not for the processed bull crap that you have come to think is good.

you probably just need more greens in your diet in general. are you washing your lettuce? is your lettuce organic?
i find that non organic lettuce tastes pretty crappy, and has a weird taste and texture due to all the various treatments. enjoying a more varied diet will never hurt anyone, and that's likely the source of the problem.
what type of greens are your go-to? iceberg is awful, and there are a lot of varieties to try.
it may sound ridiculous, but i couldn't imagine living without fresh greens of all kinds.

No, not organic, and it is iceberg.

I'll see if I can get some organic stuff, and try some of the other sorts of lettuce.

Note, this weirdness only applies to lettuce, we eat plenty of vegetables and everything else is fine, even earthy things like asparagus.

But Iceberg Lettuce is grown on Iceburgs. Everyone knows that. So why would it Taste Like Dirt?

I'm Sorry. But I can't Trust Anyone who Eats Asparagus.
