LED flashlight head Disassembly

So I scored myself this awesome LED flashlight yesterday (35$free of charge... don't ask me how it happened) at batteries Plus. I'm hell bent on making it my first 6v mod. The problem I'm having with it is the LED head, I don't see how to disassemble it without damaging it.

I'm still new but I suspect at least 1 other person has taken a head such as this apart before. I'd really prefer not to break the thing.

Additionally, I've found that I can fit 2 CR2's in the housing and possibly 2 cr123's.
The housing has a diameter of 0.75inch and length of 2 inches with the possibility of an additional length of .25inch with a spacer. Could anyone recommend another battery possibility with these dimensions? (that aren't 10440's :p) There still might be a little more room once I get the head open, still only about another 4th of an inch.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

He is fired he, He just dont know it yet ,

In the third picture there is a ring with two holes in it. That should screw out if you have something that will fit in there. Needle nose pilers might do the trick. Could also be left handed threads so trying to turn it the other way might be worth a shot if the regular way doesn't work.

ahh, well I got it apart and finished the mod. The design is simple but effective. Do with I had taken the time to film the whole thing.
The connection plate WAS the key... it was just on there really tight. When I got it open the whole inner workings of the head where packed in there pretty tight. I had to replace the original switch with a new one (somehow managed to bust it) They're both tactile push buttons (I'm not familiar with all the terminology, I'm still new to this)
