I only use one when Im at home......i have 4 kids and i tend to lay my ecig around....so to prevent my kids from picking it up and spilling ejuice all over them i wear it around my neck in the house.....other than that I just stick in my pants pocket or shirt breast pocket in public......

Use one all the time. I got tired of dropping it and breaking clearos. Ditto for using my jeans pocket. I'm not concerned about the look. My wife doesn't care and nobody else's opinion matters.
I use one when Im on my Road King (thats a scooter), when fishing, when mowing the yard. Im looking for someone to make me a nice leather one for my Provari.
So from the all the responses it does seem the lanyard does come in handy. Well I just bought one for my fiancee, though I don't know if she will actually wear it, she felt as used to that e-cigs hanging around peoples necks looks kinda weird. But of course, who cares what people think. Also got her something called a "mustache" which prevents the Ego from rolling when you sit it down. I thought she'd get a kick out of it, and she did. But otherwise its quite useless IMO.
I've never even thought about using a lanyard, but I was just on vacation and saw a lady in the pool with her lanyard around her neck. She would be floating around, taking a few puffs every couple of minutes. looked really convenient.
Just wanted to thank you for posting that link to Gepetto Mods. Glanced down at my pouch a couple days ago and noticed the metal eyelet the lanyard attaches to had come loose causing the flimsy material to fray. My Provari was quite literally "hanging by a thread". Since discovering this, I've unsuccessfully searched for a well constructed, reasonably priced pouch to replace the one I have. The pouch I saw advertised looks exactly like what I'm looking for.

Often included in starter kits is a lanyard so you can wear your e-cig around your neck. Now personally, I think doing this makes ya look like a fool,but it may have some practical uses, like if you don't have pockets and your working on an assembly line or something where your hands are busy all the time. Also may be good for those of us who tend to misplace things.
What's more foolish? Breaking your setup because you've dropped it or sat on it, or having it handy on a lanyard? I have a lanyard for my Vamo/Protank setup. Works great and I don't give a hoot as to what it looks like.
I have a couple (two with pouches - can't think of a better word - for my vamo) and use them any time I'm out of the house. Putting anything, other than a disposable, in your shirt pocket makes your shirt sit funny and is just asking for a lost PV...
The only time I use mine is at work. I never know when I'll have a second to vape, and if I have to run back to my purse, sometimes the moment is lost. I wanted pink, but I got a black one, along with an all black e cig so it won't be obvious looking. I try to make sure it's tucked under my blazer, and no one seems to have noticed it. 
So a lanyard and a fanny pack are the same thing for some? Well I suppose a BMW and a Kia are the same thing for some, but...um...your entitled to your opinion.
EDIT: Also I decided to go with a Pro-Clip for my Origin/ Storm Rider 2.1 solution. I'll just use the supplied carabiner and attach it to a belt loop. That should keep my investment safe from my buffoonery and I must admit the very presence of a carabiner appealed to this Air Assault qualified Veteran. I might have favored a gripper, but could not find one from a US seller.
