I actually just got one in the mail yesterday (EHPro KFL+ V2). My first impressions:
- All of the metal pieces smelled strongly of machine oil. I tried boiling, but that didn't really do anything (and why should it, petroleum oil doesn't dissolve in water). I ended up fully disassembling it and wiping it down with iso alcohol, then thoroughly rinsed with hot water. Seems clean now.
- Juice channels seem a bit shallow, at least half as deep as my $14 KFL from FT. This doesn't seem to matter much as it generally seems to keep up in terms of wicking, and I can see bubbles rise with every hit. At this point it seems like it is impossible to flood though, which seemed quite easy with the cheaper clone. That and dry hits, depending on how I wicked it. The EHPro sort of gets dry hits every so often, but I feel I haven't fully mastered wicking it yet. The wick area is a little wider than I am used to. A quick primer puff re-saturates the wick quite reliably.
- She whistles quietly. Its enough to be annoying in a quiet room. I went through it thoroughly looking for burrs and trying to soften some of the sharp edges in the airflow path, yet the improvement was only marginal. I think this may be because the airflow adjustment hole is threaded all the way into the main air channel, so the exposed threads are causing the whistle. I have inserted a small tube of SS mesh to quiet it down, but it does restrict the airflow a bit. Not sure how I am going to permanently fix this without screwing up the airflow adjustment, and yes the center pin is aligned correctly.
- The build: I use organic cotton ball and 5 or 6 wraps of 28 gauge on a 3/32" bit for about 0.9 - 1.2 ohms. Flavor is great, vapor is not bad. Just as a Kayfun should be.
- Other stuff: build quality seems nice on everything, except the threads are a little crunchy. The mouthpiece is awesome and I like the full size M-tank. The screw heads are flat on the bottom, making capturing wire super easy ($14 KFL sucked in this regard). One small gripe with the full M-tank is that it seems a touch undersized, it really squeezes the o-rings and they tend to bunch up when unscrewing even though they are lubricated with juice. Perhaps the o-rings are a little oversized, either way it is tight and I foresee damage to the o-rings over time, but it does come with extras in case this happens.
- Overall, I am happy with it. The whistling seems rare with this one, but mine does it and that is the only big downside at this time.
