I have a kangertech T3S tank and I use 2.2 ohm coils in it, I just buy a five pack real cheap at a local vendor. Is there a way I can put some wicks in this thing, maybe change whatever is in these wicks with cotton? Does it have to be a certain kind of a cotton. I have regular cotton.

Here are the coils I have: https://vaporbank.com/shop/index.php?p=product&id=2830

I use ^ these coils in my kangertech T3S tank and my optimizer tech phenom glass tank. I was wondering if it was possible to take these coils apart and maybe use some cotton or something else... your opinions. I dont have money to buy all new gear I was going to use items I had lying around the house. I have seen people pop these coils apart too so I think it might be possible. I could be wrong though. :glare:

Yes, they can be popped apart for cleaning, re-wicking, and re-coiling. I use sterile cotton from the drug store in my own Protank coils, and those can be done the same way. Best to search on YouTube for kanger coil cleaning so you can see what folks are doing.

Can i use cotton that comes in all your medicine bottles. like ibuprofen bottles always have cotten and i have a few balls of that saved up from buying bottles of ibuprofen.

Probably, but you might consider boiling it before you do.

boil the cotton on the stove? this wont dissenagrate the cotton? I was just going to put some water in a bowl throw it in the microwave get it real hot ( probably not as hot as the stove could provide ) and soak for 15 minutes until water cool?

I use generic q-tips. Some great videos on YouTube.

I have some q-tips as well. do you boil yours first or anything? How much should I put in the coil also? I have a kangertech T3S tank with a 2.2 ohm coil. I have never did this, first timer here. hmm.. kinda concerned and don't know what to do. I am going to definately check out some youtube videos.

Yes, boiling it on the stove will be fine, and it won't disintegrate. Let it dry thoroughly before using it.

Why would I have to boil it for anyways? Also, can i use the same coil, I am new and don't really want to build a new coil. Also, cotton is > silica anyways right, so replacing the silica with cotton would be a pretty good switch. Even though its q-tip cotton (which aint grade). I'm sure.

If you have a craft store nearby, I'd recommend using natural cotton yarn. To me it's easier to work with. Same story, boil a length and the rest is easy street. Protank coils are cake to recoil and rewick. A YouTube search will yield good results. Also search dry burning. It's handy for cleaning and faster than soaking.

Ohh ok. So here what I might try to do. Use some q-tip cotton. I aint going to boil it though as I don't think it would be dirty being just q-tip cotton. Then i will watch some vids and use the same coil. Being right now don't have money to but coil wire. Do coils go bad by the way? I have some brand new heads so the coils will be new. So right now the coils should be brand new.

Coils do go bad. They age and build up more resistance so they take longer to heat, may build up some gunk on there too. But from what I have seen and researched do not dry burn the protank coils. That's a real quick way to burn the insulator separating the leads and leave you with a nice burnt taste that you will never shake. Also when you pull the silica out and pop the cotton in be sure to keep the coil centered and don't short it again the base. Keep the coils evenly spaced (a small needle helps with that) to keep even heat across the wick. Hope this all helps.

You must be from around Evansville if you're shopping at the Vapor Bank. It's cool to see another local vaper on the forums.

Next time you get your hands on some cash just invest the 4 dollars and pick up a bag of organic cotton balls from the CVS right next to VB. Q-tips probably use bleached cotton, but I'm not 100% sure about it. I never thought about using q-tips though honestly. Thats pretty clever.

Also, you can take the silica out of the stock coils and just shove some cotton in without doing any recoiling. It works a lot better than i expected.

It good to know someone is around me! lol. I have no friends who vape or anything so I am stuck learning all of this stuff on my own and it sucks. Yes Evansville.

On the psuardo review.
can i use this video to complete the rebuild on my kangertech t3s tank?
Is the evod the same thing as the kangertech t3s?

yepper, as far as rebuild, all the kanger bcc coil assembles are the same
(the bdc (dual) coils are a whole different monster)

coils are pretty cheap, just tear one apart and have a look
just save the parts for when your ready to rebuild...
(remove 'cup washer'-pop chimney stem off-lift loose flavor wicks out)
(on the bottom, pull the center pin out-pull rubber grommet out)
coil/wick should be loose, lift it out

:)
