Burning usually does the trick for me, same when I rebuild my coils/wicks for other atties. For those I take a lighter under the kanthal resistance wire until every section glows, then wrap my coil. It still takes about a mil's worth of vaping until the flavor starts to kick in.

As far as longevity, don't know why but the T2 heads last me an eternity compared to other CE-type clearos. On top of that, the flavor (even for a dripper like myself) is pretty good. A good month off of one head which I only replaced because I felt bad for the others stuck in the package! :D

I don't use flame anymore on my wicks. They seemed to get stiff and brittle.
Once the strands are brittle, they seem to break at bends and this defeats the purpose and longevity of them for me.

What does work for me is either microwaving water and letting them soak, then rinse in tap water and dry.
My favorite method is either PGA or vodka in a ultrasonic cleaner. The wife picked one up at walmart for under $10.
I ultrasonic clean for 6-10min, then rinse and dry.

If you have the head working good, I wouldn't mess with it. "If it aint broke, don't fix it"
I would suggest trying all the methods mentioned above and see what works best for you.

Before using a new head, I rinse it in regular tap water, dab the wicks dry and let dry for 24 hours. A few quick pulses to heat up the coils (not necessarily until they glow red, just get them hot), screw it into the tank, fill and vape. Awesome flavor and vapor from the start. To clean, I do the same. Very simple and it just works.

I take the silicon pieces off and the top cap thing off and with my torch lighter I heat the wick. It has not hurt the wick at all and its still soft. I have the short wicks.

I'd do that in parafin covered wicks, not in these. I'll try something else next time I open a head. Today I bought a new Kanger and it's great from the start... I wish they packed the same wicks in the replacements.

Happy to report my T2 is still working very decently, and even better now with my Twist finally arriving. So at least for me personally, all my problems with it has been sorted out. While I doubt I'll end up using it exclusively, and that I might prefer my Vivi Novas to it, it will still be a very nice alternative when other clearomizers are full and I want to try a new juice, if nothing else.

Let it break in... trust me, runs hotter on lower volts, heads last much longer!
