Hi Everyone,

I just bought a Kanger Subvod kit on Friday and the guys at the store I bought it at did not tell me anything about it being a sub ohm model. Upon looking at the instructions I noticed it is a sub ohm and looked up what a sub ohm is and does. I have to say reading up on how they work I am worried about the safety of using a sub ohm. I am I feeling overly concerned about this safety of this? Are they generally safe to use?

Thanks much,

Andrew

vaping on a coil with a resistance under 1 ohm is not inherently unsafe. Read up on Ohm's Law, Battery Safety, and how they relate when it comes to vaporizers. The kit you bought has Kanger coils that are appropriate to use with the tank and battery. You'll be fine. Sub ohm vaping, usually done with direct lung inhales on an airy draw, is a little different experience than using higher resistance coils, usually done mouth-to-lung on a tighter draw, more like a cigarette.

Try the kit and see how you like it.

ETA: whoever sold you the Subvod Kit should've explained all this to you before purchase, (and let you try a sub ohm store mod). Keep that in mind when choosing where to shop in the future. ;)

COMPLETELY in agreement with this!!! As fast as "modern vaping" is growing, the limited knowledge of "staff" is horrendous!

That being said, I am only 60 days "new" to vaping myself (using "modern" devices) Coincidently, my "guy" steered me (us) to Kanger Subvods too. Since being here (ECF) I have started to pick up on other means of vaping which may offer a more enjoyable vaping experience. I will say that in the short time we've been using the Kanger Subvod, we have been VERY HAPPY with it's simplicity and performance. We're not overly thrilled with it's battery life/performance but overall, it's been a smooth transition off of "the stinks" (Quit "cold turkey", day ONE!) There's a TON to learn on this "journey" and we're just getting started. I'm glad you found this site and you're joining us on "The Journey" :thumb:. The Kanger Subvod IS a good unit and we haven't had a lick of problems with it. The market and options are changing all the time. This is an evolving technology and is sure to evolve further. (Who would have thought there would have been an S-7 or X-Box T.V.???) As 7sixtwo posted, stick around, ASK(!), and do your homework ;). There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with the Kangertech Subvod! Cheap, easy to clean, operate and replace coils AND it WILL support the 1.2 ohm coils also available ;) if you choose to "plus ohm". Stick with it!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! You're on the road to recovery!!! Welcome aboard!!!

Since you've bought the kit and are using the coils that belong to it, you have little to fear.
Kangertech also don't like their customers in hospital by fault of their devices:)

Most modern devices, including the one you bought, have sufficient electronics onboard to be safe.
As long as you use it as intended (eg. Vape it with the tank and coils it comes with), you are fine.
