I have done all the research, read all the forum info on these, recieved feedback from some forum members and watched reviews on both of these rta. This will be my first rta. I like the versitility of the subtank mini and therefore am leaning towards it presently. (its on clearence at MT Baker for $14 bucks and the Ammit is around $32). Any thoughts on these two tanks would be helpful.

Thanks
John

The Kanger Subtank Mini is a Great all-around 22mm RTA. And 14 Bucks is a Good Price for one. The Kanger TopTank Mini is basically the same as the Subtank Mini. Only it features Top Fill and a Revised Airflow Base.

I have Both the SubTank and the TopTank Mini's. And I would have No Problem recommending them to someone who is looking for their 1st RTA.

I don't have Ammit 25. I like 22mm RTA because I don't have a lot of 25mm wide mods. But it looks like a Nice RTA.

ETA: I saw this Thread while looking thru the New Posts list...

If you're wanting to build just basic functional leak free single wire coils there is a better (IMO) option.

I have real RTAs gathering dust. I have an authentic SubTank Mini - great product! - it's soon to be gathering dust. The problem with both is screws, tiny screws that can strip or fallout and disappear into carpet and can be a problem getting put back in if you do find them. Totally unnecessary PITA that can be avoided.

I suggest you look into any of the eGo ONE series of tanks. A variety of different styles and they all use a coil called the CLR designed to be easily rewickable and or rebuildable. And performance is easily a match for the SubTank.

here's a link to an active dedicated thread for these tanks and coils. No need to try and read all 250 pages just skim the last 10-15 pages and introduce yourself. Ask any questions and folks there will be eager to help. We can also help ya find some outrageously good deals on clearance! Seeya there.

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

The Mega one tanks are hard to find these days. But if decide to look for one. Healthcabin has one with a mod for $19.90 if you are willing to wait two to three weeks for it to arrive from China.

joyetech evic vtc mini 60w full kit with temperature control

That said the $14 Subtank from Mt Baker is a great deal. I go two from them some time ago. As far as lost screws, if you are careful not much of a problem. You can also get extra RBAs for the tank for around $6 each.

The Mega One is very good and also is bottom feed. The CLR is good for rebuilding but is pretty small in size to work with.

I would recommend the Ijoy Exo RTA.
It is cheaper than the Ammit, has the same singlecoil builddeck, offers an additional dualcoil builddeck, is very easy to wick and therefore does not leak, has a capacity of 2 or 6ml, includes an option for a tighter draw and on top of that the flavour is really good.

I currently use the Subtank Mini as my daily driver and love it! I’ve tried other much-ballyhooed tanks and have been disappointed in their performance.

The eGo One was one of my earliest forays into the vaping world, and I was supremely surprised by the long coil life of the factory pre-made coils. The 1 ohm coil was a perfect MTL hitter. The .5 was way too airy for me, and with the small size of the 2.5 ml tank, got hot real fast.

I’ll be looking into the Mega series tanks to supplement my Subtank Mini

If you want a good clone back up for the subtank. This is a good quality clone and cheap, I got a couple of them. Out of stock right now but they restock frequently.

$8.29 Toptank Mini Styled Sub Ohm Tank Clearomizer - 4ml / 0.15ohm / stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

The Ego Mega tanks are not easy to find but the trons are pretty much the same thing as the EGO mega.

If you don't mind colors those are around for $2 plus shipping from Heavens gifts.

I already own the Top Tank Mini, but don’t like the top fill. No matter how fast I refill it, I get either a flooded coil or leaks. (When using the RBA deck).

I have a Tron T tank that came with my eVIC VTC Mini. Good tank, runs cooler than my eGo One, gobs of flavor and vapor, but is difficult to see the liquid level of the tank.

I’ll be looking at the Tron S too as my next tank.

Other tanks I’m considering:
1. Geekvape Ammit single coil 22
2. Skyline Coppervape Clone.
3. Kanger Protank 4.

What do you think of the Ammit? A better MTL or DL?

The Protank 4 lacks the juice control so I’m worried about coil flooding/leakage issues when using the top fill option.

I haven't used an Ammit so I can't really say.

If you want a DTL tank that doesn't leak and has great taste the OBS nano is great and inexpensive at under $20 but is 25 mm if that matters to you,

$21.35 Authentic OBS Engine NANO RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 5.3ml / 304 stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

For a good MTL tank that is hard to beat the Coppervape Skyline. Also pretty good for DTL. I think it is one of my favorites and you can even increase the ml held by using bubble glass on it.

$18.60 Coppervape Skyline Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 4ml / 316 stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$1.73 Iwodevape Replacement Glass Tank for Aspire Cleito Clearomizer - authentic / 5ml at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

There are two different types of air flow. The ring airflow on the base and the juice control can both be operated with the tank on the mod.

The other airflow control is the PEEK limiters that come with the kit. Those fit the air hole on the deck and as such can only be changed when taken apart. Not really an issue though. The 3 hole one is for MTL the other is DTL or without also.

These are air disks that fit in it. It comes with two of them. One with big hole and the other with 3. One for DTL the other for MTL. These can only be changed without the coil in place. The air flow ring on the tank can be adjusted at anytime

The subtank mini is going to limit your builds. Its basically standard single coil at 2.5 or smaller the chamber/chimney setup is tiny for anything fancy.
I regularly run 3mm, 26 gauge coils on my Subtank Mini, no probs. 3.5 I haven’t tried yet, but since life is all about experimenting, I’ll give it a shot.

And I’ve also seen vids of dual-coil set-ups done on the Mini:

And here:

And even a quad coil build here

I also run 3mm 26ga Single Wire Coils in my SubTank/TopTank Mini's with no problems.

And it's the Smaller Chamber/Chimney that I like because it gives Better flavor than a more Wide Open RTA.
