Kanger Nebox Battery Question

Hey guys,

I need to buy some new batteries for my KangerTech Nebox. I was looking at these...but noticed they are 3000 mAh. Does that make a difference...I believe the batteries that i have now are a 18650 2500 mAh. Let me know what you think..

mAH- Is the energy/charge that a battery will hold. Ex.- A 3000Mah battery will last longer than a 2500 mAH battery.

I've never seen a 6500mAH battery before. I'd recommend getting quality batteries like a 30 amp Samsung, LG, Sony or MXJO. These batteries are usually available with mAHs between 1600mAH-3000mAH.

Current draw is far more important than Mah ratings.
Look for 20amp cells fom Sony,LG, & Samsung. Continuous,,pulse ratings are useless..

The batteries you linked are good to 1.6amps, 7 watts! They are JUNK for your intended purpose! DO NOT BUY THEM FOR VAPING!!!!

There are batteries over 3000mah, but they aren't safe for vaping! Not at the ranges most people vape at now days.

Buy only Sony, Samsung, or LG batteries to make sure that you don't get crap rewraps, and buy them from a reputable source. No Amazon or ebay.

Choose batteries for the application that you will use them for.

• If you are a low wattage vaper (never vaping over 10 watts), you could get by with a decent 10 amp battery with a lot of mAh.
• Most folks need at least a 20 amp minimum battery. There are a few 20 amp batteries with 3000 mAh.
• Extremely high-wattage vapers, and those mechanical mod users with extremely low ohm coils, should use a 30 amp battery. However, genuine 30 amp batteries only have 1500 mAh.

Due to the limits of current battery technology, there is no such thing as a battery with both the highest amp rating and the highest mAh rating. Mah and amp specifications work like a see-saw, either one or the other.

The best 18650 batteries are made by Lg, Samsung, and Sony. It is recommended to purchase your batteries from known to be reputable vendors to reduce the chance of purchasing counterfeits. Reputable vendors are listed in the second link below.

I'm no expert but from what I've gathered the most important things are the amp/mah seesaw analogy and that no name companies inflate their ratings.

An 18650 with 6500mAh is either an incompatible ICR battery, or has outrageously inflated specs. No such animal exists.

As stated previously, 3000mAh is about the highest capacity battery you can use in a regulated mod. Samsung 30Q, Lg HG2, and Sony VTC6 all are 3000mAh with 20 amp CDR.

The best advice for the OP is to look at Mooch's battery pictorial table posted by Baditude and pick a battery, then order them from RTDVapes or one of the other vendors listed on the table in the blue stripe at the bottom.

No, they have an insufficient CDR for your application.

You've been given very good advice and suggestions.

The best you're going to do is one of the name brand 3000mah 20a CDR cells from a reputable vendor/dealer.

Samsung 30Q 3000mah 20a
LG HG2 3000mah 20a
AW 3000mah 20a
Sony VTC6 3000mah 19a

Only buy batteries from reputable vendors/dealers to avoid lesser quality, rewrap erroneously labeled / counterfeit cells.
