I have seen several videos for micro, nano, and diamond coils for the kanger protank, PT2, and mini, but i was wondering if the same set up based off the rip trippers videos i can replicate for the kanger aerotank. If so which coil set up works the best for the aerotank and what size kanthal, how many wraps should i use? Should i stick with the 20ga needle for my base for wraps? Whats the best resistance build for it personal opinion wise. I have never rebuilt a coil head before but have seen and read as much as i can at this point until i just start my trial and error.

I rebuilt my aerotank last night for the first time and am absolutly loving it! I just built a basic 28ga 10wrap nanocoil with cotton wick and a little cotton flavor wick on top and its working great! Came out to 2.0ohm. I just wraped my coil around a really small screwdriver then pinched it in tweezers and hit it with the torch. Rocking it on my VTR at 13watts no burnt taste no dry hits...:vapor:

Do you happen to know what size screw driver you used? i wouldnt mind grabbing a micro screw driver set and some drill bits. i see the drill bit works great as a bridge to lay your coil in your head slots to hold it firm while you pop in your insulator and snip your leads. Also, do you use just normal cotton and do your boil it and let it dry? i hear it gets the pesticides out. I dont know if theres a specific cotton on there thats preferred for coil builds. Also do you lay your cotton flavor wick parallel with the coil extending out the grooves on the head?

I just used regular cotton but boiled it first then let it dry. The screwdriver was just barley to big to fit all the way down in the slot with coil on. It was a little one i got free with an iphone replacement screen. I laid flavor wick paralell with coil on top just sticking out on each side.I did find that you want to use a little more cotton than you think you should to keep it from flooding.

sorry for the crappy phone pic

cool thanks for the info, and fyi, from furhter investigation, a 20g blunt needle or a 5/64 drill bit will fit in slot with the coil on. Also, from what i read organic cotton doesnt require the boiling to save you some time. cant wait for my supplies to come in the mail so i can have some fun tinkering. Though i think i am going to go with 11-12 wraps and shoot for the 1.6-1.8 ohm range.

Search harder on YouTube. I found one that works pretty good. He basicly does the normal wrap you see on all PT builds, but he wraps it around a 3/16" zip tie. So it makes a oval shape coil. Then he puts in a flat piece of cotton (same shape as a zip tie).

Wasn't aware -I might give it a go - might you remember who on youtube? - I'll search - thanks

Trick to stop leaking is a second grommet on the stem pointing up towards the chimney if you are using single coils. Rebuilding the duals with a single seems to require A LOT of cotton to fill the extra space. There are quite a few threads on rebuilding them on the forum I believe. And trust me, when you get it right, it is amazing!! I started with one of them and have moved to 4 with rebuilt coils and they rival my RDA at a much smaller size. Have fun :)
