And finally... ANYTHING that looks like enamel... because enamel is simply melted glass on metal.

An Antique Red Guilloche Enamel Egg Pendant.

This gold mounted miniature egg pendant was made in St. Petersburg between 1904 and 1908 by the jeweler of the Imperial Court Karl Bock.

The Bock workshop was located in St. Petersburg at Bolshay Morskaia Street No 9. It was a small jewelry firm with only 20-25 employers which produced exclusively high quality jewels.

Karl Bock received a gold medal for his jewelry at the Pan Russian exhibition in 1896.

In 1901, the firm was awarded with Imperial warrant (a permission to depict double headed Imperial eagle along with the company name) and official title - Supplier of the Imperial Court.

This egg pendant is covered with a deep strawberry red guilloche enamel of the highest quality - identical in color and quality to Faberge eggs.

The enamel is in excellent condition.

Height without gold ring - 16 mm (5/8 in.)
