Just when I thought...

So, I was all set to buy my very first high-end mechanical today from another member via the classifieds. Then, this morning happens.

Taking my daughter to a doctor's appointment this morning, my truck gets hit by a guy driving his BMW like he's Mario Andretti - passing on the right shoulder then shooting left across 3 lanes to get to the left turn lane, which I happen to be in. Scratches my bumper cover up pretty good, but NBD.

I spent 16 years as a cop, so I know what's going to happen. Several folks who say the guy's driving stopped to bear witness after he hit me.

Enter the police.

The cop is cool, takes all of the info, and writes the guy a ticket for reckless driving and colliding. I'm just about to pull off when he asks me to hang on - and returns with $185.00 in citations for expired safety inspection and failure to exercise care to avoid an accident. The inspection I earned, but "Failure to Exercise Care"?

So just when I thought I'd get my "new to me" mod...

So, if the member I was working with reads this - I apologize again. This really wasn't how I wanted to start my day, promise....

Well, that seems like a string of bad luck, but it could have been worse, at least no one got hurt. I am sorry to hear about the fine and "failure to exercise care to avoid an accident"?!? , that's harsh.
