I stopped using the square tank bc it spits like crazy for me too. Even with the anti spit tip from my AIO on it, I still get some hot liquid in my mouth. It's just too much fuss to use it day-in-day-out. So far, my cleito tank have been flawless on the CM.
Yeah that black spiral asb drip tip doesn't cut it at all. Much better off with an Aromamizer drip tip the Vanilla drip tip is a clone of.

I've given up on this tank myself.

The other coils keep flooding and spitting globs (not just drops) of hot liquid at me, only the 1,5ohm doesn't do this for some reason but the flavor is still off. Not sure if it's machine oil or something else. The USB cable it came with had an awful stench to it as well, more of a hot electronics/burned plastic smell, perhaps that's what caused it. I tried cleaning it with hot soapy water as well as with alcohol but I can't get rid of it.

The mod itself is performing great though, highly recommend it!

Hey, been vaping for years and have never had a product that spit more than the cuboid mini kit. Love the design and everything else so this has been bugging the hell out of me. I had purchased this for cheap but wanted this little mod to work for me cause the size is perfect. I found a solution that has worked for me.

I think the problem is that the screen they put on the coils is not helpful at all. It's just too close to the coil do do anything about the spitback. In fact, it may be making the problem worse. Using the notch coils but found that with both the regular 0.5 ohm and the 0.25 ohm notch coils...these do flood. Typically when adding more liquid to the tank. Not much can be done to fix that as far as I can tell...just clean up a little bit after you fill it with a paper towel down the chimney and get rid of the extra juice.

I was looking for anti-spit back drip tips which was a huge chore and there aren't a whole lot of options in the large bore variety.

So what I did was to take the screen off of the top of the atomizer and it's a pretty perfect fit down the hole where the mouthpiece goes. I just used a small pen and pushed it down into place as shown in the picture below. That leaves me free to unscrew the chimney piece and get a paper towel down in there to sop of the juice when it floods. Now the screen seems to fill it's purpose and when I change out the atomizers, I simply remove the screen. Easy fix and works really well. The airflow seemed to change just a tiny bit but most people probably wouldn't notice the very slightly tighter draw.

Hope this helps save someone else some research time. With all of the legit complaints about the spitback, I have no idea how Joyetech let this go to market the way it was. Especially when the solution is really easy. They should have at least sold these with the drip tips that have the anti spitback or splash guard screens.

Now my tongue has time to heal haha!

I love my Cuboid mini but I ditched the tank right away. The mod is great but the tank was not apleasant experience at all. Now I use the Mini with a Serpent RDTA and it is a perfect match.

I agree, that's an easy fix for sure. Throwing another tank on there was what I was going to end up doing. But I'm a sucker for the matching mod and tank (not to mention I had already bought an extra pack of the notch coils and so I wanted to protect my $7 investment in those haha). The spitback issue was driving me insane and I was determined to come up with something that fixed it. I just didn't think it would be as easy of a fix.

There are anti spit drip tips that eliminate the issue. FastTech used to sell an Aromamizer clone called the Vanilla that you could buy the anti spit drip tip separately for a buck or so. Works great to stop the spitting on JT TFTA coils. I'm sure others are available if they don't carry them anymore.
