I just wanted to start a thread about this because there isn't much discussion anywhere on the web about using 2 ohm coils with the iSub tanks.

I've been vaping a 2 ohm coil for about a day now and I think it's weird that they're rated 10-25 watts. I would think it'd be a tighter and lower range like 10-15 watts. I'm using it at 16 watts with half air flow and it isn't bad, but I don't think the flavor is up to par.

Does anyone else out there have anything to say about this setup?

Hmm, are you sure? I use the 2.0 coils, and the one's I have are rated 10-16 watts, or that's what it says on the box. Also worth noting, that they almost always taste burnt at anything over 10watts for me.

I threw mine in the trash. Dull flavor. Prefer Uwell Crown, Cleito and Zephyrus V2 any day.
I'm starting to get to this point myself.. dull flavor is an accurate way to describe what I'm getting -- even at 40 watts with the 0.5 SS coils rated 30-60w.

Yea, I got the 10-25w rating directly from the coil and the plastic it came in.

This is a real headscratcher. I just went through all of my boxes of 2.0 coils and they all list 10-16 on both the box and coils. Maybe they changed them, or are SS or something different. Do you remember what site you got from them?

I had the air flow control open all the way. After closing it half way, the flavor has gotten better with the 0.5 SS coils.

Also, I haven't given up on the 2 ohm coils yet. I'm starting to find a good air flow and wattage configuration for them. I like how I can get a warmer vape than the Nautilus Mini with the same amount of vapor in like half the time (~1.5 seconds). It's kinda weird to be able to vape a 2 ohm coil at 20 watts and still be in the recommended range..

I'll keep the thread updated..

I just think this tank is designed for direct hits because even though it's easy to mouth hit the 2 ohm coil, when I direct inhale from it, I get better flavor and more vapor.

Another supporting factor is the 2 ohm coil being rated 10-25w. And, the flavor doesn't start kickin' 'til around 16w, so.. it requires large airflow to operate well, which is what direct hits supply.

So, direct hits with the 2 ohm are using a lot less juice and giving a similar experience to the 0.5 SS coil now. It's pretty good.
