I think as far as topper issues goes, I've noticed that some of my toppers are actually 'crooked' themselves. They sit funny on my provari also, and eyeballing them while not on a mod seems to confirm this. That said, I think some people reported the crooked atty issue on the cana could be fixed by tapping the 510 down? Not sure, maybe someone while chime in

Mine is crooked, there is not doubt. I have about 15 devices and my Kayfuns sit straight on everything except my cana. Honestly though it doesn't bother me, just wanted to point it out. It is only noticeable on taller toppers. It's not crooked enough that you really even notice with a dripper installed.

Just to be as specific as I can the device I have is not from Cloupor. It's a fasttech HANA MODZ Pack DNA 30 Style Mod VW Modules. Received it yesterday and installed it into the box. So far the only difference I can tell between the Evolv DNA 30 and this one is coming out of sleep.

On the Evolv as it comes out of sleep it briefly displays the splash screen then immediately will display the watts & ohms of the last attached atomizer but on the Fasttech board it displays the splash screen then the watts however the ohms is always 0.0Ω until the next fire or after a couple seconds if I hold the fire button down. It's almost as if the Evolv board has memory to maintain the ohm settings but the Fasttech doesn't.

Is this the same problem I've read folks reporting multiple fires to wake? Mine doesn't actually take multiple fires but it will take a few seconds to fire if I just hold down the fire button coming out of sleep.

I have been trying to call/send emails since Thursday. Unfortunately, this vendor turned out to be a crook. They have no shopping cart/CC processor at this moment. Too many chargebacks for non-obtained products. 15 day warranty does not apply to fly by night crroks.

If you paid with a credit card or paypal, you may want to dispute the charges.

I have a v3 cloupor.

I did a bit of research regarding the always red charge light.

After charging for 8 hrs, battery bar showing full, my Sony VTC5 was charged to 4.19v. Close enough I figure. At least not over charged.

The battery bar showed full after about 3 hrs. The Sony was at 3.42v when I started charging so the charge circuit is about 500 mAh.

At least it stops short and doesn't over charge. Happy about that!

Posted in another thread today:

Anyone have a problem with their clouper spontaneously combust? Not explode but smoke, bad.

Yeah, went to hit the fire button, said too hot. ..., I haven't even used it today. You could see a bright orange glow to the right of the screen. I ran outside with the quickness, set it down, and ran inside and hid like a wuss behind the door lol. It then started smoking. Battery did not vent, warranty stickers not harmed etc.

Issue: Clone DNA board is a bad "clone" of the real DNA board according to the makers of the real DNA. (Evolv)

link starts at approximately 37:10 minutes into this video just put out by pbusardo interviewing Evolv and their factory.

Yeah saw the Innokin/Evolv thingie yesterday. I wouldn't expect evolv to say anything good about it :)
Yep... they evaluated and tested the clone chipset and verified it was no where near a real DNA30 thus it is an issue prospective clone purchasers need to be aware of imo... I can't think of anybody more qualified to point out this issue than those who designed and developed the DNA.

Really wonder why they would say something like that?
One reason might be it's hurting there sales but I would have no idea....maybe someone with a vested interest with evolv would know more about it??

I don't want to defend the CNAs and I'm sure they are not as good as the DNAs, but I have to admit that John's response to PBusardo's question about the CNAs left me somewhat unsatisfied. I had expected John to point out the deficits much more specifically.

Totally agree, I'd really like to see these side by side on a scope and more objective data and less opinions. I have a true Evolv DNA 30 box mod and just recently received the Fasttech board and from a vaping experience I cant really tell a difference. If I only had a scope I'd do a side by side but I don't :( tried using the sound card oscilloscope but it doesn't work with DC so that was a no go.

A scope would give you the numbers but in the end you say a side by test you can't tell a difference. For me does it give me a vape I want is more important than what the number say or don't say

That's not what I was trying to say. From the many posts here on the Cana mods, it seems clear that they may well be suitable to generate vapor. What I had hoped John might have been able to clarify is whether there are safety issues in the circuit or some other issues that would create a hazard. So I thought that was a missed opportunity to tell us what precisely is the issue with the bad copies. John is clearly a bright guy, but he was having a hard time answering the question in a decisive way.

I see, perhaps I read into your statement more than you intended, sorry for that. I think were on the same page though. I mean if i were Evolv and had evaluated & tested the clones I would certainly have objective data to present to the public regarding the performance, safety, reliability, stability etc..

Now I also understand they may not want to release such data themselves for business, legal or other reasons I may be unaware of. But it seems to me there's always leaks of this type of information when there's a benefit to a company or is detrimental to a competitor. And from what John stated they surely have objective data from a scope and I would have expected to have seen a long time ago if there were serious safety risks.
