Didn't buy the battery due to not powering on, but was the correct battery the manual said to use 1865 something or other. The fellas at vape shop put it in correctly and tried two different ones of the Same battery type. Didn't have much time to mess with it due to having to work.will try to hit a different vape shop on Saturday

18650.

It's entirely possible to have gotton a faulty mod right out of the box, especially if two batteries were tried at the vape shop. Just make sure to use the proper orientation for inserting the battery.

Since you are new to vaping and to 18650 batteries, I suggest that you get one of the better brand name batteries best suited for your particular regulated mod. Many vape shops will try to sell you an "aftermarket" or re-wrap battery. A little research will go a long way.

Are You Using a Rewrap (Rebranded or Aftermarket) Battery?

  • Learn what a rewrap cell is. If you are using a rebranded or after market cell, does that mean it is inferior, poor quality, or even dangerous? Which batteries are suspected to be rebranded batteries.

So am new to vaping, just received a eleaf pico 75w starter kit went to buy a battery at local vape shop and it would not power up. Does the mod come automatically in stealth mode or did I just get a faulty kit brand new out of the box?
Welcome and glad you joined.
I have provided a little more information which might help choosing/evaluating batteries.
