I bought a 'pico' off Ebay last year. It was a fair copy but little details didn't fit. The top cap was too thin, the finish just a bit off and the buttons too stiff. The sort of things you wouldn't pick up on if you'd never had a genuine one. First thing i did was attempt to download firmware from the eleaf site. Not recognised.
Contacted the seller with my concerns (it's a bloody fake you liar) and got an instant refund. There are a lot of dodgy vape products on Ebay.

The fake mod was a few dollars cheaper than a genuine one - makes me wonder how counterfeiters can work with such tiny profit margins....

Well, your friend is luckier than I, I bought a pico (this was early on in my vaping journey) from ebay, and it arrived broken and clearly (badly) reconditioned. I do not buy mods from ebay anymore. No loss to me, since I wasn't in love with the pico I ended up getting that wasn't broken, that mod is just not my bag.

With that said, tons of folks like them, and I have nothing against the mod, it just didn't do it for me. But I'm glad your friend got his issue resolved, and that the mod is working fine for him now. I can't imagine cloning a pico they are so inexpensive to begin with, but cloning is now the thing, I guess. Even the Siren V2 got cloned. It's an interesting phenomenon for sure. I could see doing it for insanely expensive stuff, but the cost savings at that price point have to be like, $5. Or thereabouts. I can't see it being cost effective OR a good choice but eh.

Glad it worked out. Still...friends don't let friends buy gear from ebay.;)
I learned my eBay lesson early and cheaply, bought a tank and it was absolute crap quality. Never bought a vape product from eBay again.

I will buy vape gear there on occasion. Never mods, though. I've gotten some prebuilt coils from a lady who does beautiful work. There's a guy who liquidates inventories from belly-up vape shops and I've gotten a few tanks from him. I get almost all of my wire from the site, too. They key is making sure the seller guarantees authenticity and they have long-term favorable feedback. The ebay marketplace does more than a decent job of ferreting out the grifters

The old adage that "if it sounds too good to be true, it is" always applies, though.

Is the unlock click speed configurable in the AF firmware?
No, but you can use other click counts to turn it on/off. Two, three, four or five.
