Im currently using the eleaf 20w and love it but looking for a little more. Im currently using the aspire nautilus with a 1.8 coil. Also using the protank 3 some times too.
My question is it worth it for me to get the 50w if I'm going to be using the nautilus with a 1.8 coil or am I going to be vapping at the same wattage so it would be the same thing?
i know now if I bump the wattage past 8 watts it starts to taste burnt so why would I need a 50w when I don't even get close to 20w.

It's ~double the capacity, 4400mAh compared to 2200mAh of the 20w so it would only need to be charged about half as much. If your current one is lasting long enough between charges there is no reason to go out of your way for a larger one.

You shouldn't be getting a burnt taste from your tank. If you ran it to low once that may be the reason and you just need to change the coil.

My battery usually lasts me about two days which I'm happy with.
And I only get a burnt taste with certain juices that are thicker

I have both the iStick 50 and 30, and with my Nautilus with the 1.8 ohm coil, I use it around 12 watts. I certainly don't need the 30 or 50 that they are capable of. Even when I tried the Subtank Mini, I never went past 20 watts. The big plus for the 50 is the battery life. If I use the 50 exclusively, I only need to charge it once every 6 days to a week. With the 30, I only need to charge it every 3 days.

One thing to bear in mind is that with the 20 it runs "hotter", so if you have it set to 8 watts you are getting more than 8 watts.

Different strokes for different folks. I started with a mech mod and got tired of maintaining a dripper all day at work and it got me into box mods and tanks. I started with an iPV3 and now I hardly use anything else but my Cloupor Mini 30watt. The size of the iPV3 became a hassle and I'm sure the iStick 50 will somewhat be a hassle compared to the iStick 20/30.

Errrr....

I don't know how to break this to you, but you're vaping at MORE than 8 watts with that tank and coil every time you charge the battery, regardless of where you have the mod set.

The istick 20W DOES NOT have voltage step down. That means it cannot reduce the voltage output any lower than what the battery itself is putting out. So with a freshly charged battery at 4.2V you are vaping at 9.8 Watts with that coil. You won't get below 8 watts until the battery charge has reduced to less than 3.8V.

So I'm not sure what you mean by getting a burnt taste with it set at 8 watts when you're vaping at nearly 10 watts every time you charge the battery regardless of the wattage setting you've selected.

I have the 20, 30 and 50w isticks. I love the 50w combined with the Atlantis. Really diggin that. Also love the 20w with the nautilus.

I wanted to setup my Moms with the 20w or 30w nautilus combo. I ended up getting her the E-grip, I think it'll suit her well for a beginning vapor. Not to say I won't get one for myself...

Yes its worth it. I had a 30w but took it back because it started always going into protection. They took it back and let me exchange for $11 extra for the 50Watt. Just be aware that if the 50watts are hard to keep in stock in your area they will try to price gouge it up to around $70. Dont buy it if thats what they are charging. The charge time has increase of course to 5 hrs compared to the 2 to 3 hrs for the 30watt, which is to be expected being its 4400mah. I believe that the 30watt I had shorted being I was always constantly using it at max wattage.

Does the 50w do the same as the 20w?
