Is my ohm reader off? Steam-engine wrong?

ok so i bought one of those little black 510 ohm readers off ebay for ~$10 and it just came in today. only thing is is that it seems to be way different than what steam engine is calculating for me. example here are the coils i've built and what both the ohm and steam engine are telling me:

dual 26g, 3/32 id, 7 wraps per coil. ohm reader: 0.35 SE: 0.8
single 28g, 3/32 id, 8 wraps ohm reader: 1.35 SE: 1.4
dual 28g, 3/32 id, 5 wraps per coil ohm reader: 0.43 SE: 0.9
dual 28g, 3/32 id, 7 wraps per coil ohm reader: 0.54 SE: 1.2

so the only one where my ohm reader and SE agree is the single 28g. when i use my multimeter it comes closer to the reading i get on my ohm reader. it looks like for the duals, my ohm reader is reading about half of what SE is calculating. any suggestions?

haha no everything is entered right on steam engine.. 26g, dual (parallel), inner diameter of coil 2.381, 2mm leg length.. i would just mess with the target resistance until it gave me an ohm that matched up with the total number of wraps. that specific build i just listed ^^ SE tells me 13.96 number of wraps or 14 rounded to full wraps. i know it's all entered correct because i tried to build .8 ohm according to SE but when i popped it onto the reader it gave me .35

When you select "dual coils" the text appears under the selection box and it says two coils in parallel the resistance is halved.
if you selected .8 when you put the oil it calculates in parallel you get .4
Look at your numbers dual readings are close to half of the calculated value.
Single coil shows the meter and calculator are close.
Oh, toss the cheap ... batteries that came with the meter and put good ones in it.

ah ok! ya i noticed that my ohm readings were close to half. i saw the text that the resistance is halved but i must have misinterpreted it. i thought it meant that the coil resistance in the summary was halved to get the target resistance, which made sense to me haha. thanks for clearing that up i'll give it another go and see how it turns out. also it didn't even come with batteries -_______-
