good evening everyone

i think i may have overdone it :D

see, i was never a heavy smoker, at most 6 or 7 cigs a day, so i got two levels of nic, one bottle 0mg one bottle 12mg. i vape the 0mg most of the day and the 12 only in the mornings when the urge to smoke is strong and a few puffs three or four times a day when the urge to smoke hits me (i've only been cig free for six days) and everything has been fine but two days ago i got a coffee juice at 12mg which is DELICIOUS, and it was fine at first but then i started to vape it more and more because it tastes so good but... long story short, i cannot vape it at all now because it makes my nose burn. ALOT. the 0mg is fine.
i thought maybe it was just that juice but no, i have another (not so tasty 12mg juice) tried that, and it burned as well. switched to 0mg and all was fine - so i figure it has to be the nicotine. any body else have that? and what did you do about it?
i'm pretty new at this and i've seen 6mg nic juice. do any vendors sell 3mg? is that too low to keep the urges at bay?

You should easily be able to find 6mg. I've also seen 3. But if the flavors are similar you can mix your 12mg half and half with the 0mg and it will be 6mg. Yes, 12mg burns my throat so I mix them with 0mg so they don't go to waste.

no the flavors are not similar at all. (fruit - not good with coffee - at least not for me) but i guess i'll go back to the vape store and get 0mg of the same coffee juice and mix them up. i just hope i can get a little nic without the nose burn because sometimes the 0mg is just not enough to get rid of the urge to smoke

thanks!

Yea, I've mixed some flavors that I wish I hadn't. Lime does NOT compliment eggnog :p I've learned that although I prefer 8 to 10mg my throat prefers 6mg or lower. If it's still too strong at 6mg you can always dilute it with more 0mg. You'll find your sweet spot with a little experimenting. Good luck.

weird that it burns your nose though...some people have allergies to certain flavors maybe the coffee and you just dont react well regardless of nic levels

yeah i have no idea why. i tried scouring the whole internet, yes, the whole internet :) to see if anyone else had the problem. saw a few but they talked about it being a hit more than a burn.
no i don't think it's the flavors since i tried the coffee 12mg and then tried a candy apple at 12mg, both the same burn.
bummer.
i hope the lower nic levels will help.

I was a pack and a half a day smoker and 12mg nic is even rough on me! I picked up a 12mg by accident on my last supply run and am now stuck with it due to a lack of funds. I know diluting it with a 0 nic version of your juice will help if you can swing it. I've been looking for other ways to dilute as well being as broke as i am!

I smoked 6-7 a day and I went with 6mg, which has been fine for the two days I've been doing it. The only real cig I've had was when my e-cig started aggravating me so much by not working that I had to calm down with a real one! With the 6 I've been able to get through my two hardest-to-quit cigs - first thing in the morning and on the way to work.

You can dilute it with USP grade VG. It's fairly inexpensive and you should be able to pick up a bottle at Walmart. If you bought the bottle of juice in a B&M they may even give you a little if you ask. It will dilute the flavor of the juice a bit as well but at least you could still use it.

Hi

I have to assume you are exhaling out your nose, right?

The irritation might be coming from the nic level. The other part of this equation is the matter of how much PG is in your liquids. High PG liquids can be too harsh for some people. (I didn't see any mention of the PG/VG ratio in these liquids. Or I missed it.) To get the harshness down you can drop the nic level, or the PG level - or both.

Also, if this place you are buying from is using a 100 PG nic base, when you doubled your nic level you also increased the amount of PG in the liquid as well. To sort where the irritation is coming from I would try to find out what the PG/VG ratio is in these liquids.

No, your symptoms are not nicotine overdose.

Nicotine overdose is very clear. You get nausea, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, sometimes jitteriness and headaches, stomach upset (........ and so forth), and later, vomiting and worse symptoms with higher dosages.

Incidentally, I have only really thrown up once from nicotine or tobacco, and that was smoking a big Honduran cigar (I did not inhale either, I guess it was absorbed through the mouth).

I agree that you are just sensitive to the PG, it carries the throat hit of the nicotine, and probably creates a scratchy sensation in your nose too. VG, on the other hand, has a smooth effect that masks the texture of the nicotine. (I vape lower powered devices and still find the throat hit from vaping substantial, at least if there is any PG in the mix). You can get used to the PG-effect in time, most do, although you can also buy VG-based e-liquid.

thank you everyone who answered, like i said, i'm pretty new to all of this so i didn't ask what the pg/vg ratio was when i went to the shop, i just thought mmmmmm coffee! and snatched up a bottle. i went back to the same shop and got 0mg of the same flavor, mixed it up, still the same thing. when they open tomorrow i'll call and ask what the pg/vg ratio is. i'm starting to think that i might be sensitive to the pg (which sucks because i just ordered 4 bottles yesterday with a 65/35 pg/vg mix)
i guess when you're new to this you need to go through a bit of a learning curve and you're just going to lose a few bucks.
(like my embarrassment at ordering a battery and a wall adapter - thinking the adapter was the charger so i got the battery and no way to charge it hahahahahahaha) oh well live and learn.)
so again, thanks for your advice. i guess i can order 4 more bottles of the same flavors, at 100% vg and mix with the ones in the mail (IF it does indeed turn out to just be a sensitivity to pg.)
but in the end, all this trouble is still better than smoking! 10 days and counting!

edit: also, i've been vaping a 0mg banana flavor from the same shop with no ill effects. i would think they use the same pg/vg ratio for both? or am i wrong? do people use different ratios for nic/no nic juices? anyway, if that't the case (that they're both the same ratio) i can rule out a pg or a vg sensitivity which leaves....nicotine. (or the flavor)

i hope i can figure it out soon because complete 0mg nicotine is hard on the cravings but i have not given in yet.
