Trying to clean and refill my Evo ecigg........while doing this somehow the case covering the battery came off and the battery fell out. There seemed to be a wire connected to another peice from the battery part....this broke also and the battery fell to the floor. I believe then what was battery acid. (????? ) spilled out into the floor. Immediately I got a towel and picked the battery up. I noticed the battery was hearing up. It continued heating. I placed it in a zip lock bag and it began melting the plastic...........WHAT DO I DO???? I do not know how to dispose of this or clean it up. I've heard that water mixed with lithium battery materials can cause an explosion. However the batter continues to heat up which I'm sure is eventually going to explode. I don't know how to fix this without it ending badly....HELP PLEASE

When a battery becomes hot, it is going through thermal runaway. This is a thermo-chemical response to an abused battery. Once the reaction begins, there is no stopping it.

If you notice one of your batteries becoming hot, attempt to place it in a nonflammable object like a sink, bucket, or outdoors immediately...and then get away from it. The entire process may last only a few minutes. When the battery does whatever it's going to do (about an hour is safe), then place the battery in a plastic bag and drop it off at a Radio Shack or Home Depot battery recycling center.

Batteries which go into thermal runaway should be considered to be extremely dangerous.
