Is it normal to not get a buzz after vaping an hour ago?

Hi, I've been vaping for about 6 months now, and I am on 18mg. I didn't smoke before I started vaping. I started with 9mg and went up to 18mg.

In the mornings I vape this 18mg a few times and I get a massive headbuzz! I feel so dizzy and relaxed but it feels good. It only lasts 60 seconds before it goes away. But then if I try to vape more no matter how much more I take, I can't get that head buzz feeling. I have to completely stop vaping for like 2 hours until I can vape a few hits and get that buzz for a minute again. Is that normal? But when I smoke a cig even after I vaped and got a buzz, I will still get a buzz. So basically I don't get a buzz when I chain vape.

I have tried three different batteries and 3 different cartomizers. I use Hangsen 18mg Mint juice. I live in China, so this Hangsen comes at about ~$1.60 per 10mL. Free shipping, too.
Is this a problem with the juice? Like is there too much oil coating my lungs so that when I try to vape, the nicotine can't pass through more after like 5 hits in an hour?

edit: I would also add that if I continue to chain vape after this buzz is gone I start to feel very tired but I can't sleep, like all I can do is lay on my bead and close my eyes and just do nothing until an hour or so where the feeling goes away.

This is one odd question......I take it the OP is looking for the buzz! This is not a good way of catching a "buzz", in fact it could kill.

But nicotine as other drugs, alcohol even caffeine all build up a resistance in the body. The more the intake the more one needs over time, you will not see an alcoholic of 3 years get his/her "fix" with a can of beer, more like several is needed. The first can of beer to a non drinker can really have an effect but to a seasoned alcoholic not a chance.

Same goes with nicotine, you obviously have been over doing the intake and now find you need more to create the "buzz" you first encountered.

If you continue to try get this buzz using nicotine, you may find yourself looking up at the root side of the lawn!

Panorama911 said it so so correctly.Id like to add that if u never used cigs, than the fact that u went straight to vaping, and now find yourself craving or chasing that "buzz" can only end up bad for you in the long run. Take it from someone who has been under the stranglhold of addiction himself, then got clean, and worked @ a mens treatment center for a few years(only stating all of that to establish my own knowledge of addiction) when u chase that buzz it should act as a very serious sign post for you thay while yes-its only nicotine it can cause you to chase a progressively stronger "buzz" down the road and your post, when I read it tells me you may not have experimented too much with recreational substances, lol. A person usually talks about {Other Stuff} or {Other Stuff}(the site wont let me post the real name of the drug, so i typed "{Other Stuff} w/the hopes u all know what I mean) when describing the "chase" you so elegantly posted about. Anyway, as always im only giving MHO but take head to Panorama911 and just be careful. Id say if youve never used drugs in the past, id be especially careful since everything youve said points to a person with an addicted personality, and if you found another drug down the road, beside {Other Stuff} (I know, a drug is a drug, but {Other Stuff} doesnt seem to cause the issues other drugs do) Id bet the house that you would be hooked, right on first contact! Not being judgemental here, just saying what i see. Anyway try to slowly taper down on the nicotine, cause it very dangerous in tge way you may be using it. Nausea is the first sign youve inhaled too too much.

Thanks a lot guys, I had no idea I was doing it too much. I even wanna stop completely. I just like vaping while studying because it helps me focus. But I don't get any cravings, only after I eat. And if I can't find my e-cig, I won't go crazy looking for it. And the thing is, I've been vaping 18mg for like 4 months at least 3 hits per hour everyday!
Why when I take just one cig that has so little nicotine compared to e-juice, it gives me the same buzz but an even more relaxed and no worry-feeling kinda buzz? It's something to do with the absorption of smoke as compared to glycol?
So do ex-smokers vape to just stop the craving? Or do they also get the buzz I was talking about? Or both?

BTW: I don't feel nausea, ever, in the sense that I wanna throw up or my stomach is upset, I just start to feel very lethargic if I chain vape 18mg. Is this basically what you guys mean, or also a bad indicator?
And yeah, I've never tried addictive recreational drugs.

Thing is, smoking is a very different beast from vaping - a number of reasons for this, but principally:

Smoking contains LOTS of chemicals in addition to nicotine.
Smoking is hyper efficient at delivering nicotine to the blood - there are two measures of pharmacokinetics: t-max (the time to peak) and c-max (peak concentration). To get a quicker t-max, you'd probably have to inject the stuff (not advised ;) )

Vapers can and do get similar c-max to smoking, but t-max is far longer. They are also not getting the same cocktails of chemicals as they were with smoking.

Because of this, most vapers tend not to report much of a buzz. More just a satisfaction and alleviation of cravings. That's fine for most! Rather than a drug-related buzz, vapers tend to be more interested in enjoyment - flavors, visual vapor, throat hit etc.

Seems to me that you get a buzz from nicotine because your body has not been exposed to smoking.

And, as expressed above, do be careful. Nicotine dependence is really not a good thing to be getting involved in - I have no idea whether you will become dependent or not, but I'd strongly advise you stop.

Not correct....A cigarette smoked for 5 minutes has the same or relatively same amount of nicotine absorption of an Ecig vaped for 30 minutes. point is that a cigarette delivers nicotine much faster than does an Ecig. One reason there are many levels of nicotine available in liquids is to get the amount the user requires, or close to it, most cigarettes contain anywhere from 8 to 20 mg of nicotine, the average is about 12mg per cigarette. But nicotine delivery in tobacco reaches the brain is seconds as tobacco is also using chemicals to help speed the absorption up, these chemicals are NOT in E liquids making the absorption much slower and lower....So you may have 18mg juice but may only absorb half that= 9mg....not exact but for example/simplicity.

There are other factors which determine how much nicotine in an Ecig a person gets but no need to go into them at this point.

Thanks so much guys. I'm so glad I joined this forum and was answered quickly by experienced people who really are honest about not wanting me to get addicted. I tried to stop vaping twice but by the second day I just felt like what's the harm in it? So I kept doing it. Today I wanted to stop, and now I am really going to stop. It's just shame that I recently bought 9 bottles of juice and 18 replacement atomizers, lol. But THANKS A LOT GUYS!!! :)) Knowledge is power!!

I'd suggest you try not to use as much nic. Just my opinion, please don't think I'm telling you how to live your life or being an ........ The reason I'm saying this is because they are not kidding. Nicotine is actually deadly. One drop of pure nic can put you in the ground. 50mg. That's all it takes. When you're vaping 18, it may take a while, but it can happen if you're trying to get a nic high. Just use your best judgement, try finding other ways to enjoy your Vape, maybe flavor chasing or cloud chasing. Enjoying your nicotine isn't a bad thing. Just please don't go chasing a high.

Oh my gosh... I thought that each cig had ~1 mg nic... But that's just the absorbed nic, total is like 8-20mg! Excuse my terrible research and ignorance :|

Please do not forget....buying shiny new equipment! Nothing quite as addictive as Vape Mail...:D
Yeah, before I knew it I spent way over my budget on new vape kits, juice, got the evod mega by kangertech... not much of a modder but I'm going to stop.

I'm not saying you have to stop vaping my friend. If you enjoy it, do it. You don't necessarily have to have nic in your liquid. I Vape 0mg. I worked my way down. I enjoy it more personally.
I started at 0mg because I wanted liked smoking cigs for the feeling of having smoke come out of my mouth and practicing blowing O-s... I know that's really immature but I never tried cigs before in my life now I'm in college I had the opportunity to get a vape to play around with smoke.. then tried out the nicotine ones and got addicted to chasing the buzz I guess.. I'm pretty much gonna stop, but don't worry, it's not your fault that the vape community has lost a member :)) It's for the better!

P.S. I don't see the point in vaping 0mg though...

As I repeat everytime this "buzz" issue is mentioned: nicotine is not for the purpose of getting a buzz; there are plenty of other substances for that. Nicotine is for those who've smoked and gotten accustomed to nicotine, and others who may have some medical condition for which nicotine is beneficial. It's not a "party drug."

The dizziness is a symptom of nicotine overdose, and will lead directly to nausea.
