I'm stumped on this one ... I tried mixing a few juices with Inawera flavouring and found it very harsh. I thought it was my nicotine causing this, so I never tried mixing anything else until my VT nic arrived.

My first test on the VT was my ADVs (which are made @15% flavouring without Inawera) ... turned out perfect (no pepper taste at all).

Then I mix up a 60/40 VG/PG base of VT nic @12mg ... I try to make one 10ml test batch and add only 1 drop each of Strawberry, Blueberry and Pineapple.

only 3 drops of flavour in 10ml and it is like vaping razor blades.

Anybody able to chime in on this?

Cheers

I only vape fruits but don't find that a problem; tobaccos are said to need more steeping and i could see those being a bit harsh.
I have quite a few Inawera fruits and at about 3 - 4% I think they are on par with the best fruit flavors; spot on, no weirdness.

I would suggest maybe you are a super sensitive taster... I always add a cream (2-3%) to my fruits to take the edge off; try that.
I like TFA Sweet Cream (don't go higher than 3-4%)

I've mixed those 3 flavors 50/50 @ 18mg with VT, Heartland, WL, and Bull city nics. at 5% and have never detected any harshness.

hey k3vin ... I know you have seen this thread ... I just want to mention, I have done a bit of testing and it's not the VT nic ... however, it does seem to be the Inawera flavouring ... go figure, 3 freakin drops in 10ml

I dumped the Kayfun and loaded up the 12mg VT 60/40 VG/PG base ... it was harsh until the VT nic cleansed the wick.

I then added 5 drops to 10ml of the same 12mg VT 60/40 VG/PG base ... 3 strawberry, 1 mango and 1 Pineapple, all VZ super concentrate (which recommend 1-2.5%).

I don't know if it was just those Inawera flavours causing this (I also tried a 10ml batch with 1 drop strawberry, 1 drop blueberry and 1 drop double apple) ... again, super harsh with only 3 drops per 10ml.

Now, what to do with 40 Inawera flavours that I just can't trust because of this harshness.

That sounds strange. Have you tried those 3 flavors separately? One of them could be bad.
Also, are your Inawera liquids rebottled?
But again, I would try them for separate. Good luck!

I have been DIYing my own e-juice for a little over a year now. I always do a 3 to 5ml test batch on all flavors before making a more complex recipe with them. It may seen like a lot of extra work, but it really saves time in the long run. By doing that, I learn the actual characteristics of the single flavors(i.e. harshness, sweetness, aftertaste, etc.) and can tell which ones are most likely to mix well together. Example-I make a straspberry juice(strawberry and raspberry), it's much better when made with FA raspberry, CAP sweet strawberry, and FA strawberry, than just the 2 FA flavors and sweetener. Just a thought.

I've noticed some harshness with my inawera and found over flavoring was the main cause. Also most inawera tobaccos need a week to 10 days steep. I just recently did a honey tobacco that tasted harsh and chemical tasting. I adjusted the concentration and after a week it turned out to be one of the best honey tobaccos I've ever tasted.
