IPV3 update help

Question is about the update files download. I finally decided to update my IPV3. Using a laptop with Windows 8. The SXi file downloaded and installed fine. Driver updated fine and I get the SXi widow that has the connect, upgrade etc.. The problem is that when I click the link to download the ipv 165 watt link, on the Greenleaf site, all I get is a screen full of random numbers and characters, instead of it downloading. I tried several times with the same results. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did not grow up with computers so not sure what is going on. Thank you.

right-click on the link and then click save-as -- use the default filename and save it somewhere.

Taking the plunge I see. If you still have issues let me know and I will email the files I have somewhere. Also if you have connection issues when you plug you ipv3 into your comp and it is not showing up as plugged in try to plug it into your sata port.

try plugging it in to your SATA port???
SATA is the connection used for hard disk drives, not USB devices....

I have heard using a USB 2 is preferred over USB 3 though -- so if you have more than one color USB socket -- use the one that is not blue.

That is essentially what I am saying. On my laptop the sata port is also a usb 2 plug. I had the issue that I was describing and none of my laptop usb's worked so I had to plug it into the esata/usb port.

First I have to get the file to download. One did, the other wouldn't. Will try again with the suggestions when I get home later. Thanks for the responses.
