I just bought another one when I realized that it was not being carried by many sites. My first is 1.5 years old and I still use it everyday. Could not imagine being without a working one. I have about a dozen other mods and the VTR is still my favorite. As long as you are happy at 15 watts or less, it is still a great mod.

I agree. I may just do the same thing myself.

Wait just a minute people , i talked to two separate Innokin insiders last week and the old Innokin VTR may be discontinued(never asked about it) but not the new and improved VTR averaging 50-60 watts .

Not out yet but they have been working on it for awhile .

The original VTR was being sold for $29.00 at sites a while back.

New and improved VTR? This is the first I've heard of it! If I could find a 15 watt version with the fixed-wheel 510 connection (I always have referred to it as version 2) for $29,00, I'd snap it up just for the sake of having a spare. I never exceed about 8 watts on mine anyway, as I only use a Protank 2 atomizer.

I'm looking around this eve and not seeing the VTR for under $55 and mostly around $80 for a starter kit. Still dripping as satisfaction with tanks so far eludes me, but I wouldn't mind trying this VTR out. I love and trust Innokin products and have the MVP 2, MVP 20W, and Coolfire IV, but would really like a device with a replaceable battery. I vape at around 7.5W so all these newer devices seem like overkill for me.

I agree, the replaceable battery makes it really simple. I always have an extra 18650 IMR Li-ion spare charged for when the battery meter turns yellow. And they last for days, literally. BTW, where did you find one for $55, if you don't mind me asking?

This is due to be released soon. (Sometime this month?). DISRUPTER&INNOKINCELL VAPING POWER SYSTEM
Up to 50 watts, for those interested in that. Still not as cool as the VTR, IMHO. The tank sticks out like on most box mods. I really like the VTR's recessed tank slot, even if it is only 19mm diameter. It works with the Protank 2 just fine. But thanks for the link.

I've been posting to the Disrupter thread- it looks promising, but what (it appears) the VTR and Coolfire IV have over the MVP and Disruptor is the rounded side. It makes such a huge difference in comfort! Coolfire IV with a replaceable battery would pretty much be ideal to me.

And yes, if I want to do a tank, a recessed tank seems the way to go.
