Increased sweating. On day two of e-cigs.

I am on day two without a real cig. I noticed that my armpits and hands are sweating way more than normal. Other than that I feel fine. I noticed that yesterday I only vaped about 1.5ml of .18 liquid so I dont think I am having nicotine OD symptoms. I am craving kind of hard but fighting it and only vaping when I feel I am going to crack. Am I getting too much nic or is this my body telling me it wants more ?

After two days to my shock I already notice a difference in my breathing. Not that there was anything wrong with it that I was aware of but it just seems different. My wife told me that my voice sounds higher ?!?!?!? I am a musician and singer so I have no problem with being able to hit higher notes but I have to ask... Is this in my head and hers or could there really be a difference in my voice and breathing already... Damn my hands are sweaty even as I type and I have not vaped much at all today. 5 hits over about 4 hours.. Thanks for all of the help so far. This is one of the most helpful forums I have ever been on.

Im not a doctor, but maybe you should vape a little more, i use 22-24 mg juice and i vape fairly often, wouldn't call myself a chain vaper but not a lite vaper either. Also try to mouth inhale and just let it linger in your mouth for a few seconds...then inhale into your lungs if you want. Real cigs deliver nicotine much faster than vapeing does so you sorta have to vape more than you would smoke. IN 1 hour ill have vaped probably around 25 toots, or hits as you called it.

There is no need to suffer through cravings for a cigarette when you start vaping. You're setting yourself up for failure. If you have a strong craving, light up. This is not an all or nothing proposition, just keep enjoying vaping and you'll surprise yourself when you crave those cigarettes less and less, until the day comes when you want to puke when you light up and that'll be the last time you consider yourself a smoker. That's the beauty of vaping. Count how many cigarettes you haven't smoked, change your perspective.

Good luck and welcome to ECF!:vapor:

I will vape a little more then. I will not light up a cig though. I gave all cigs, lighters, ashtrays etc away. My goal is zero nic so I dont mind going through a little bit of cravings since i know I can vape and get rid of them. Just wondering if my sweating was a possible allergic reaction or something.. My appetite is down as well which I dont really mind. I am at a healthy weight for my height. Last time I quit smoking cold turkey was in 94. I gained 60 pounds in 8 months. I lasted a year and like a ..... went back. Lost all the weight that I had gained accept for about 20 pounds which I needed anyway because I was a underweight back then.

If you're smoking less or have stopped altogether and are mainly vaping then your body's circulation is getting better.

That's one of the reasons you're sweating more, my body's thermostat went completely bonkers when I stopped smoking, from always feeling cold to suddenly opening windows in the middle of winter complaining about how much warmer and stuffy it was. Brought a whole new meaning to sweating for me, it does stop, your body just needs time to adjust.

Your breathing should alter too because you're not filling your lungs with carbon monoxide, but I have no idea what would alter the pitch in your voice. Now there's a mystery..

Vape in the same way you would have, had you been smoking, waiting 'till the last possible moment only increases your cravings. Why torture yourself?

And, Welcome to ECF.

I smoked and vaped for about 2 months before quitting the analogs all together. I went from being a pack a day smoker, down to three a day in the first two weeks. Once I felt "safe" about vaping and how the system worked then I quit buying cigarette's. I allowed myself to vape to my hearts content all day long. I noticed at some point I experienced cravings even though I was getting plenty of nicotine. I realized it was the lack of chemicals that was causing the cravings. My body was very addicted to those too. I just vaped that much more when I experienced the cravings coming on.

Don't be afraid just vape. :)

Just curious , how much did you smoke before quitting and how many mg. of nic you using in your juice ?

Well, I went through a pack a day however I only smoked outside and have done that for the last two years. As a result of going outside and not smoking in the car I found that I felt finished with a cig about half way to 3/4ths of the way through. So not a whole pack a day smoked. Maybe a little more than half. I smoked Marlboro Lights for about 20 years. .18 on the nicotine BTW. .24 makes me dizzy.

Love this flavor I got a local e-cig shop called bacco berry. A mix of tobacco and berry. I really think getting a flavor that you like mixed with a bit of a tobacco taste is the best route for a newb that wants the cig taste. Now I taste tobacco and the slight berry hint keeps it from tasting like an ashtray like the e-juice that I purchased with my starter kit online. YUCK !!! I am mixing that with the bacco berry to make it last longer. Still craving and I am vaping away. I think it is the other chems in cigs that are doing that. It will pass and I will not smoke an analog. I am all in.

I'd say vape a little more too. As long as you're not smoking you're onto a winner. Don't wait until you're about to crack before you vape. Just pick PV up once in a while and have a couple of draws.

It's my first full day vaping, and I'm having no cravings to smoke at all, so the nic in the juice is doing it's job.

Usually when others around me smoke and I'm quitting, I get really cravy. But not today. I've just been whizzing my Riva out and it's doing the trick.
I'm not bored of the choc flavour I just wish I'd bought a 2nd for a change.

Keep it up. Two days so far is great :)

The sweating could be your body's temperature control getting out of wack. No idea how or why this happens, but I had a period of time after getting off cigarettes where I was constantly switching between turning the space heater on, and putting a fan in the window. I was also drenched in sweat several times after waking up in the morning or from a nap.

As for your voice thing... my voice didn't change. I mean, I still sound the same when talking normally, but my voice CAN go higher than it used to. If you try to make a high pitched noise, and kind of cycle through the frequencies going up higher and higher at some point your voice cracks like a pubescent boy, after switching to vaping the high frequencies I can reach is much higher before my voice cuts out. This is a vocal chord issue and not a lung issue I'd imagine, but it would make sense that constant smoke passing your vocal chords would cause irritation that stops them from working 100%.

I also agree with the others who have already posted, in that if you are really, really craving a cigarette, just have one. Don't be like a dieter that goes on a crash diet, only to give up and then start eating like a pig again. Ease yourself off ciggs comfortably.

Good luck!

Hi! I, too, quit smoking and switched to vaping in one day and experienced ALL of the withdrawal symptoms that you are describing and more! I had 2 or three days of flu like symptoms, sweats, irritability... I'm surprised that I didn't see pink bugs crawling on the walls or something. Absolutely vape to your heart's content. Don't wait for a craving; vaping does not deliver nicotine in the same manner and dose as smoking did. I second the above poster's advice to drink LOTS and lots of water as it'll flush the chemicals out more quickly and keep you hydrated. Day three was the worst for me, but it got progressively easier after that. You can do this!! In fact, you ARE doing this!!! :toast: Oh, and get a signature banner so that you can keep track of how long it's been.
