Says the guy that got the Walmart thread closed Bashing stealth vapers.:lol::lol:
just saying,
everyone has an opinion - some are even reversible and/or just convenient atm.
There's a big difference between vaping in an enclosed store around random customers, and hanging back alone outside next to a building or whatever.

Funny, for someone not interested you sure looked into my username enough to include my daughters name in your comment. And how am I looking for sympathy? Im asking if I'm wrong about vapor leaving scent on me, or any general health risks about 3rd hand vapor. Thanks for your contribution though
Okay, first, I looked left at your user name. No mad searching required:lol:
Second, your Op doesn't read anything like what you are now stating.
Maybe, just maybe it was your opening that Failed to get your concerns(do you actually have any?) across.

Now, I stealth Vaped at work. No, In writing, rules - but Smokers get ...... and it causes conflict. Employers do not like Conflict. Advocacy groups LOVE Conflict - see the issue? I also did so with full knowledge they may ask me to stop or even execute some discipline as an example of company stance.

You are certainly welcome to do as you see fit. I also have a right to an opinion and I do not believe ignoring an Employers Policy is anything to brag about. Changing Policy yes.
You might be amazed by the Regulations concerning ANY food product handling.
Surprise inspection and a violation can run in the hundreds of thousands in fines.

Is vaping classified as a tobacco product in Canada? It is in new york, so any regulation involving cigarettes also covers vaping, so it might be out of your company's hands too. Talking to a manager might just being it to their attention and they might keep and eye out for vapers. I say do it in the bushes and don't tell anyone.

Now that last part was a good, reasonable explanation that I can appreciate. And your correct, I came off a bit disrespectful in my post which I apologized for in another reply, I had just read the fine print today and it made me pretty angry. There's no looking for sympathy, no concerns, just asking if anyone sees a real problem with what I'm doing and if not I'll continue my stealth vaping.

Chipotle.
I apologize if I came off as trying to be some rebel that doesn't care about rules, because that's not what this is about. Nobody cares about my vapor, nobody complains, nobody says anything. I'm wondering about health concerns that I may not be aware of, and also stating that the job isn't important to me so of it comes down to it I don't mind losing it just INCASE worst comes to worst. I was never told about those rules and if out of nowhere someone decides to come fire me without warning then that's where I lose respect, if they can explain why I shouldn't then I will gladly resign peacefully.
Nobody that brings it to your attention complains about the vapor, are ANY of those people who have a say in any of the rules? You're playing with fire and acting like you're fireproof. You could very easily be terminated for insubordination which may not seem like much at the time, but it could very well cost you a job in the future. Seems sort of silly for a temp job to hurt your potential future.

Also, saying "I was never told" when someone confronts you with rules is how guilty people defend themselves most of the time. Lets say for the sake of argument that you did actually never read it...does that mean you weren't given the opportunity to do so? Or does that mean you simply neglected to carefully read? Legally speaking just because the rules are written in small font with clever wording does not make you immune to them. You've admitted to reading the rules, knowing that vaping isn't allowed on company property, and you've now posted it on a public forum with plenty of details to lead back to you showing you very much know the rules. Should you choose to break them after this, you have brought whatever comes your way on yourself and nothing ANYONE here says can change that.

Sure, you may just be asked to resign but what about the worst case possible scenario? Say the employer fires you on the grounds that your vaping either caused conflict internally OR someone who is highly sensitive had a reaction to it(or even CLAIMED to have one). Can you afford to front the legal fees to defend yourself against the company claims? Sure, it's a less than 1% chance of it happening, even if you were to get caught which is also a very low chance. From my perspective it seems that vaping is more important to you than the Job and if that's the case you should simply quit and find work elsewhere.

There are people here who are going to tell you "Go ahead and do it, I did something similar and I was fine". Well...are they going to bail you out if something goes horribly wrong? Nah.
