Interesting topic.

Well, I've had IBS most of my life. I also have social anxiety disorder (not to an extreme, but its bad enough). Now, one thing that comes along with anxiety is an upset stomach. So I kind of get a double whammy. Nicotine is proven to increase anxiety just as caffeine does, so the fact that I smoke/vape and drink soda like crazy doesn't help anything in my case, lol.

So taking all that into consideration, perhaps You've up'd Your nicotine intake while vaping, perhaps causing some anxiety issues or maybe You have been known to have problems with some form of anxiety?

To make things simpler, You have to poop more now. Nicotine in ways can indeed make You have to poop, hell I even poop better while smoking/vaping on the john. So the question is, Do you take in "more" nicotine than before?

To be honest with You, there really could be much worse things in life than having to poop often. I find it relaxing, it works as an excuse, gives you time alone, keeps your bowls clean and I've had some of my best ideas pop into my head while pooping. IBS isn't all bad, IMO... lol
There is a new study out now that heavy soft dring users have a twenty four percent chance of cancer, more, than those who don't drink pop. It can't be good for you. Probably contributing to your IBS.

Glad you found something that worked for you bobtow.

But just FYI.......spelt is a derivative of wheat.
Yes I know, But it has less gluten the wheat flour. I now eat wheat everything without a problem. Most foods apart from Vegetables and fruit are all acidic. So normally our diets coninting of grains and meat are very high in acids. By drinking akalide water it helps to cut the low PH, derived from our normal diets. Also the rule of 80% vegetable to 20 persent meat and grains, keeps a body with a health ph. I think vaping has helped my stomache over the last hurdle.

Well the good news is that i went out to walgreens and armed myself with probionics.
So I shall monitor bowel over the next week.

The gluten free deal has sort of got me really depressed...I cannot imagine my life without pasta or delicious crusty bread and fine cheeses.
Also i doubt supermarkets here in Florida sell gluten free stuff...

But you can have those things on a gluten free diet! And supermarkets in Florida *do* sell gluten free stuff, you just have to know what to look for.
If the probiotics don't do the trick, just give gluten free a good solid try for a month, and see how you feel. If you feel no different, then go back to what you're doing now.

I've got better since starting vaping. My daughter and I were talking one day and she said "why is it our families conversations always end up in a discussion about bowel movments". Having said that, the other day I told her this site has got around to our favorite subject of conversation. She said well find out if they're family they probably are.

I'm extremely confused about something.
They say that IBS may be caused by recent antibiotic intakes.
The antibiotic kills all bacteria including the good bacteria that lives in the colon.

On the other hand, they say that a combination of neomycin and rifaximin, two antibiotics may help IBS sufferers because it is believed that IBS is caused by an excess of bacterial growth on the colon.

What makes IBS weird is that half the people have ........ and the other half are constipated.

Anyway, may as well start a gluten free and lactose free diet for a couple of weeks to see what happens.

To make things worse doctor's do not know the causes of IBS...

By the way ! I have a gut feel we are family! Lol.

Quo-wondered where ya went...;)

I happen to have stomache/colon spasms that hurt like hell along w/IBS and recent gall bladder removal...Probiotics are great. They gave me a smooth muscle relaxer...doesnt effect ur reg muscles, only ones in ur digestive tract...maybe ask ur doc abt "Levbid" or Hiocosomine (sp?) -it has helped all symptoms 99%...still get occasional issues but has worked WONDERS...good luck ;)

I suffered from IBS and a sluggish digestive track for years. After all the crap Western meds. this Country doles out with no results, I took matters into my own hands. Hands down, what fixed me right up, and changed my life was and is currently going on a biannual cleanse. Go on line and do a search for "The Lemonade Diet". There's a small yellow book that includes the diet as well as a plethora of other remedies. Go on it for a total of 14 days, and do the salt water flush as recommended every morning. It's not an easy one, but it will reset your entire system. Come off the diet exactly as recommended as well. Once your digestive track is cleansed, drinking Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar (2oz + 8oz H2O) every night b4 bed it's amazing. Also, drinking Aloe Juice daily is key! Also, look into making your own Ghee,
Ayurvedic How-to -- Making ghee at home

Take a Tsp. or Tbs. in the morning to coat your stomach!

Probiotics are gr8 as well, but after a clean system and healthy diet...most likely not a necessity, but most important after any kind of antibiotic. If you can, try to only use antibiotics when in dire circumstance...we live in the worst climate for prescriptions....

BTW...My expensive B.H. Dr. told me to quit smoking and drinking. After the cleanse, and controlled diet...the smokes and drink never effected me negatively. I made the jump to Vaping over a year ago, a not an issue. STOP ALL GUM AND SODA...They are KILLERS!

Hope this helps!

Much Love - Mr.e

Please feel free to PM me with any further ?'s

OK...went to a second doctor today and also had a cat scan.
It's not IBS, it's diverticulitis.
Anyway, nothing whatsoever to do with vaping.

Probably too much protein and too little fiber in my diet, and the fact that i'm turning 50 this year makes it justifiable.

I want you all to know that there is no association with vaping or nictotine...so vape away..and be happy!!
