I been vaping since April 2022. Learnt a lot through internet but need info on whether if innokin 1.5 z coil can be use on temperature control suite and what the tcr is and if a prism t22 coil can be used on temperature control suit and the tcr.
I am not that complexed I only need a unique name for this forum that was not negative.
Someone please help me!!!
Boy that sounds desperate. Sorry!
A better question is can or cannot Kanthal coils be vaped that are pre-made. I read you can vape Kanthal and I read disclaimer saying I should vape these Kanthal coils. Is there a scientist in the house with gadgets to get readings?
Natural I want to do a mouth to lung vape without over heating the coil then less metals and dry hits that burn the cotton.
Dr. Vapemen take me away and inform me!!
There is Modes like the Geekvape Aegis Max 100 which I believe the one I have had a mode where I can put in Kanthal and use that. I asked for information from Innokin on specs of the coil but I doubt I get a reply but it was worth a try. Does anyone know by any chance what to TCR of an Innokin Z Coil 1.6 Ohm is? Or even a Prism T22 1.5 ohm coils TCR? As far as I know the Aegis Max100 supports the coils. I like to know the TCR of these coils.

    Welcome to ECF
You cannot use any of the Z Coils with temperature control as they are made with Kanthal and you can only use SS, Nickel and Titanium wire with temperature control.
There's absolutely nothing wrong using pre-made coils made from Kanthal.

First, there is no 1.5ohm Z Coil. As Daniel said above though...all the Z Coil variations are made with Kanthal wire, so they can't be used with Temp. control mode. Here's a link to the Z Coil chart on Innokin's website, for further info about them.

The Innokin Prism coils for the T22, which do come in 1.5ohm, are also Kanthal, so they can't be used in Temp. Control mode either.

I do not mean to be severe but there is an apparent contradiction in your statement but hey I read one can use tcr on Kanthal coils it ghe Temperature control suite supports it.
    I don't see the contradiction!
You can't use temperature control with any of the Z coils.
If you want to purchase a pre-made coil made from Kanthal then you can vape that, not with temperature control though!

I been vaping for seven months and i have read a lot on vaping on different websites but uncertain how i could benefit from Temperature Control Suite on my Aegis Max. It does accept Kanthal Coils on its TCR but there is no place one the internet that suggests any type of resistance for Kanthal coils. At best steam coil give some perplexity of how complicated find TCR is. I looked up the Aegis Max 100 just recently. What I want to know is I make a Kanthal coil how do i figure out its TCR other than the steam coil website. I wrote some companies on their coils but then i do not think most people put Aegis and Zenith 2 or a Prism T22 Tank together. Other DNA mods that can do Kanthal too. Vaping is so complicated well it gets down to it. If and one has Temperature Control Suite that excepts Kanthal and use a Kanthal coil with the right TCR plese share though my TCR might be different inner diameter, wraps, leg length, and wrap spacing determine TCR. Who really knows how to use TCR for Kanthal any way!

The Aegis Max 100 is compatible with Kanthal. I know because I just looked it up.

Yes...... the Aegis Max 100 is compatible with kanthal.

The GeekVape Aegis Max will work perfectly fine with a drop-in, a pre-made or a roll your own kanthal coil.

Kanthal wire will only in work Power, VPC or Bypass modes on an Aegis mod.

Power mode is regulated and delivers 5w-100w using a 21700 battery.

VPC mode is also regulated. A user can setup 5 wattages that will be experienced in a single vape.
    Example: P1 24w, P2 22w, P3 20w, P4 18w, P5 16w.

Bypass mode dumps all regulated settings and in-effect delivers a vape "similar" to a mech mod.
It is not a mech mod when used in Bypass mode.
A true mech = a tube, a switch, a battery and an atty.
True mech mods have no wiring whatsoever.

Darn I was hoping I could get a TCR for Kanthal coil on this website by the steam coil search engine did not help either.

You will not find a TCR for kanthal!!!!!!!!

The GeekVape Aegis Max 100 cannot run in temperature control mode (TC) or TCR mode using kanthal wire (coil). Full.Stop.

A TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) is only used for Temperature Control (TC).
TCR is a setting for specific types of temp control wire. Kanthal is not one of those.

Your Aegis Max 100 will run in either Temp Control mode or in TCR mode using one of three supported wire types. This is very Clearly Stated in the Aegis Max 100 user manual and on GeekVape's web page for the Max 100.

Using either TC or TCR mode on your Aegis Max 100 requires one of the following three wire types (coil): Nickel 200 (NI), Titanium (TI) or Stainless Steel (SS).

I regularly vape using temperature control (and also simple wattage). I've been using TC for years on many different mods.

Your GV Aegis Max 100 has the same feature set (settings) as my OG Aegis Solo mods.

As @Daniel Forsyth and @JCinFLA already told you - - - you cannot use TC or TCR with a kanthal coil on your mod. Nope........ not gonna happen!!!

As far as I know A Aegis Max Has a Kanthal mode on it but is it a mechanical mode.

There is no specific Kanthal mode on any Aegis mod.

I think you are confused. With kanthal wire, and your Aegis mod, you can vape in Power, VPC or in Bypass modes (only).

IMO........... It would be in your best interests to start in basic Power mode and find the wattage that best suits you before trying VPC or Bypass modes.

If you want to try temperature control then you will need to buy coils that are supported by your Aegis mod.

It more importantly to know if it is a mechanical mode.

You've only been vaping since April 2022 - - - Why are you interested in vaping in mech mode (bypass)???

Bypass mode will not give you a consistent vape (example 16w). As you vape your battery will give you less and less wattage over time as it drains. Did you know that???

Your Aegis mod is not, and will never be, a true mech mod.

There is much one needs to learn, and fully understand, before using a real mech mod.

    @ComplexityVape welcome to ECF.

I would suggest you read up on Temperature Control.

The following table shows you what wire types work in TC, TCR or in simple wattage mode.

    temperature-control-wire-types.jpg

As we told you in your other thread - - - you cannot vape temp control with your Aegis mod using Kanthal. GeekVape does not support kanthal TC/TCR with any of their mods.

I have many mods (MANY) and own several DNA mods, Yihi and Dicodes mods. Those chipsets are normally found in high-end mods. None of those chipsets support temperature control using kanthal coils.

Your Aegis mod does not SUPPORT using Kanthal in TC - - - that CAN'T be stated more simply!!!

Who really knows how to use TCR for Kanthal any way!
LOL... many seasoned vapers know you CANNOT use TC with kanthal wire.

    Read this thread...
"TC mode wasnt designed to do Kanthal... and a Lamborghini Diablo wasnt designed to pull a 40' trailer..."

There are many Temperature Control threads on ECF. I would suggest reading those.

The reason why Kanthal does not allow temperature control is because this FeCrAl alloy has much more impurities than any others and does not offer superconductivity properties (a linear relationship of resistance with temperature).

Our @BillW50 did find the TCR for kanthal 6 years ago. Bill is very well versed and super knowledgeable in all things TC and TCR.

You will be able to vape using kanthal in TCR mode --- BUT --- it will never be a TRUE temperature control vape in any way shape or form. I sincerely doubt GeekVape intended kanthal to be used with TCR mode with their mods.

IMO kanthal is a "dirty" wire versus SS316L, or other stainless steel wire types, or any of the other supported TC wire types.

You started 3 threads on your GV Aegis Max 100 mod and temp control with kanthal.

No.......... you CANNOT use kanthal and expect temp control to function as IT WAS DESIGNED.

Read up on using temperature control!!!! You have much to learn.

Where did you read kanthal is supported and can be used with temp control???

Post the links in this thread.
