I just refuse to call them "analogs."

I just call them vape pens, or the fat ones I call vape cigars... and I call it eliquid because ejuice sounds strange, like I'm going to drink it electronically.
I guess the terminology you use just depends on how you think about it :)

I've never heard someone use the term analog outside of a thread like this on ECF ... where are these people that say things like:

dude, ya got an extra analog ya can spare?

yo dude, I'll be right in, after one more analog.

good news dude, I'm quitting smoking ... just had my last analog.

As I said ... I've never heard someone use the term analog.

Yeah, I used to always feel bad when a smoker asked for a light because they don't seem to believe that I don't have one....

They don't try to make you tear out your wick so they can light up on your bare coils -er- "burners"? (sorry Wheelie). I've known a few smokers who simply will not believe I don't have a lighter. To which I ask, "Well then, where the hell is yours?".

When people ask me,"What's that?"

I just reply,"It's mah squonk box filled with the virus."

I don't have to answer many questions after that.

This reminds me of when I need to explain what Hawk Sauce is when people ask what juice I'm 'vapin. Oh, that's always a fun one. If I don't feel like explaining, I just name some random common fruit like Strawberry or Cherry.

(...and I'm not too fond of the term "e-liquid," either, but at least it sounds better than "smoke juice." And don't get me started on "cig-a-like.")

I know, I know, it's the whole "old vs. new, analog vs. digital" thing but to me, it just doesn't make any sense. There's nothing "digital" (or "electronic" for that matter) about a PV except for maybe some safety-circuitry inside the battery or a regulated mod. If anything, we should be calling these "electric cigarettes," not "electronic." Current flowing through a resistive wire, converting electrical energy into heat? Well, that's just a toaster, now, innit? That's analog technology, my friends. "Digital" isn't just a word you slap onto something to make it seem new and fancy. It has a specific meaning: "quantized information" (yes or no, on or off, ones and zeros -- like in a computer) as opposed to the smooth curve of an analog signal. Is there a computer inside your e-cig? Again, maybe some regulatory safety circuitry, but if you slap a computer-controlled temperature control on an old-fashioned radiator, that doesn't suddenly make it into a "digital heating system." You're still just running hot water through pipes. Likewise with the e-cigs, you're just running electricity through a piece of wire and warming up a liquid.

To me, the term "analog" when used in this context would take on the literary definition of "something from which an analogy is formed." ["analogy" = "analog" + "y"] Something that is like a cigarette yet is not a cigarette. Like a Joyetech eRoll, or a Blu. They look just like cigarettes, they are used in much the same way as cigarettes, but still they are not cigarettes. They are the "analogs" of cigarettes, if you will. I doubt I am going to convince the rest of you to change the accepted terminology, though, so I will just refrain from using the term "analog" altogether, but to me, that's what it should mean. The old-fashioned stinkies will forever in my eyes be called "combustibles," "tobacco cigarettes" or, you know, just plain-old "cigarettes."

[EDIT: Can't brain today, I have the dumb. I meant to post this in "General Vaping Discussion" not "New Members Forum."]

I heard the term "combustible vegetation" once. Perhaps it will catch on.:D

I'm OK with that, if you don't want to say analog don't . Manys [sic] of us are profesional [sic] vapers with 260 whatts on tap! We all have a profesional vocablary of words and such that only profesional vapers with 260 whatts on tap understand. All profesions be like that!

Digital is so 80s! We have advance so far beyond that, now we just add a lowercase letter in front of a word, (doesn't have to be a real word, made up words are fine, made up letters however are not fine) i and e are most popular, the rest of the alphabet remains largely unexploited for now.

bCool and remember made up letters are not fine.
